I asked my GP for a supporting letter for my ATOS Medical. paid £19 for it, but there is hardly information on it at, just about the Fibro and mobility, Nothing about the other conditions i have. Not happy as the info is so sparse.Should i go back and ask them to rewrite it ?

GPs letter
My husband had this when needing a report to show he was fit for his shot gun licence..the doctors report to the police fire arms department was hardly filled in. I wrote a letter of complaint to the practise manager and had a very indepth letter back to us from his doctor and a copy of the one he sent to the police...we didnt have to apy for either of these and the result was good. Bit of a different senario I admit but your first port of call is to right with a complaint to the practise manager.
Hope that helps

Yes I would agree that you should make a complaint and include a copy of the report the g.p done for you with it,good luck x
Yes I would sent it back and get it redone, when I applied for DLA they sent my GP a form to fill in, I only saw it when they sent back my papers, he put hardly any information on there and got over £31.00 for it! of course I didn't get anything and didn't appeal as I couldn't bear the stress. I will try again soon, but I will put a copy of my medical records in with the form (a copy of medical records about £10.00) which I should have done in the first place, not sure it would have helped but it wouldn't have done any harm either.
Good luck with your application

Linda, here is a link that I think you and your doctor might find useful. You could print out the letters and pass on to your GP for signing. Hope it helps. blacktrianglecampaign.org/2...
