Never had them till 6 months ago or so. Past couple of months they have appeared at the back of my tongue. Sometimes it hurts to swallow. Luckily, Im not to bad this time.
Any idea on how to prevent them?

Oh my word , yes, I do loads, I think it's to do with lowered immune system for me but I'm sorry u don't have any idea at all about how to prevent them. Like you I get them at the back causing very sore throat, but also cheeks, gums, even one on my tongue which was horrid. You have my complete sympathy Ermintrude..........
I had to giggle when I saw your name, we have a zeb on here who keeps boinging around all over the place and now we have you ermintrude......dear heart........ as she used to say
Foggy x
I find the mouth ulcers are worse when I eat tomatoes something in their skin, So try and avoid acridness
xginns.
i get mouth ulcers too! how funny never thought it was anything to do with fibro
must be a side effect from meds? maybe?
xx
Yes I get mouth ulcers when I am run down or tired. x
I get them frequently, the last ones were so bad I was unable to swallow without pain for more than a week. I am rarely free of them but hadn't linked them to the fibro until now. I am just starting to find all the less pleasant aspects of this condition, apart from the obvious that is. Oh, the joys!
when i first started to be ill b4 i was diagnosed i got ulcers in mouth then i would be really ill now get them whenim about to get a flare up horrendaz xx
Yes loads, fairly consistently, mostly on the tip of my tongue.
I do... not as often since I figured out how to put a stop to them when the first signs show up. The second time was horrible I had a really big one on the inside of my lip and accidentally almost bit it off. They normally start on my tongue. To keep them at bay when they first start you can use a canker sore treatment - the one with the brush works great, brush well - even on it (yes, it will be extra painful if you don't do it right away, but it's worth it) and mouthwash. Also hydrogen peroxide and water swished around helps. When they were really bad I did that, but when they're mild I only have to do the minimum.
It's auto-immune related. With the sjogren's I have horrible dry mouth and eyes so that's what contributes to it. Anyone with "just" fibro get them? Or do most have a few illnesses you're fighting?
Get a lot of blood blisters on the roof of my mouth, not very nice I feel for you all ....gentle hugs... Dee x
I find dabbing the ulcers with a little salt, or salty water, last thing at night helps them heal more quickly.
Hi all
Thanks for replying. Cant put anything on them cause when I reach them Im boking and almost thrown up. Which Id rather not make myself do more often than Im doing already.
Yeah Ive got a few immune diseases type 1 diabetes and psoriasis (which the consultant said maybe related to my fibro)

eating as little as a teaspoonful of natural yoghurt twice a day may help your ulcers its also very good for your gut. if u don't like the taste of it just flavour it with stuff xx
I eat yogurt every day. Doesn't make any difference to me but thanks.
