I don't think it's a good idea. I have done this myself. I informed the nurse I was under at the pain clinic. He advused against it as it's a lit of medication fir your liver to cope with. The tramadol and the codeine are both opiate medication, please be careful.

It might be a good idea to check with your GP.

hi yes I take both and have done for a while..as prescribed by my doctor...I must just add I suffer from migraine and after a long chat with my doctor, he told me tramadol is dreadfull for the side effect of headache /migraine...so I came of it and went on topimax, and for 8 weeks I haven't had one migraine!..so I am going to carry on just taking co-codamol for a while till I decide on an alternative pain relief..xx

Hi, I'm no medical expert or pharmacist but I personally wouldn't for the same reasons Malwimmy gave you. I don't thinks its good to take both tramadol which is morpheine based with co-codamol which is codeine based (with paracetamol).

However, my main advice to you is that if you're struggling to keep the pain under control you could speak to your gp about increasing dosages or even about pain management. There are safer options than taking the risk of mixing medications that may interact with each other or even other medications you take.

hope you find relief soon

Hi, 400mg of Tramadol is max u can take daily, but ok to take with Paracetamol (my GP said def no other NSAIDS), max 8 paracetamol daily. I'm on Methotrexate amongst others so can't take any other NSAID apart from Paracetamol now. I am one of the reallly lucky ones and don't often get headaches from all my cocktail of meds.
