how much more money do you get in support rather than wrag group?
Hi, its about an extra £20 a week, that what I received recently when I was moved from WRAG group to support group.
do you mean you get £20 more for being in the wrag group?
Hi Sophie, How do you get yourself moved from the Wrag group to the Support group? despite having severe mobility problems along with ME, I'm still expected to go to job centre meetings and discuss my being employed (!) - most days are spent indoors as i'm in too much pain to even venture outside. do you know who i need to contact?
hugs xx
I got an extra £20 for being in the support group
Hi, you get an extra £6.35 a week if you are in support group
My son has learning difficulties and was put in the support group, However my son has inheiratance from his Grandfather and his late mother. Because support group benefit is means tested my son get's no payments whatsoever, This inheiratance was to help him to find a home suitable for his need's.........They don't take this into account..
being in the support group isn't necessarily means tested, it would be the fact that he was on income support that made it means tested not because it was the support group. anyone with over £16,000 is not entitled to receive income support, and if he hadn't worked and paid national insurance contributions, it wouldn't qualify him for the contribution based ESA in the support group.
As for how much money you get in the support group will also depend on whether you are on Contribution based ESA ir Income based ESA. Income based (Ie If you are in receipt of Income support) often entitles you to more as its like a passport benefit to other thing alike free prescriptions, Eye testa nd help towards glasses and help towards dentistry too. People who have paid contributions even in the support group over all lose out as they are not entitled to these add ons! The rates of benefits etc are on the Direct.Gov Website.
Hope that helps explains things. xx
