My partner is on here called paul 30 and im his partner michelle just thought it would be a good idea to put myself on as a carer and be a ear for anyone out there who wants to chat ! x

Hi there...I'm not a carer but have joined this group because my daughter has fms. My daughter is Rach1977 and it breaks my heart to see what she goes through as it would to anyone who has a loved one going through this type of illness. The thing that annoys me so much though is the people who don't seem to believe her.....friends who need it spelt out to them, relatives who don't 'realise', her workplace who seem to know better than her consultant. I hate injustice of any kind to anyone, but when you are in pain as well and have to take this type of treatment then that is a complete double edged sword. I have to say though that Rachel is probably one of the bravest people I have ever known (that will embarass her!!) and would wish that bravery on all with fms.

its extremely difficult to see loved ones going through so much pain when u cant help them and my hubby feels that nobody believes him at times like they are saying "he cant possibly be in that much pain" but they didnt ask to get fms and like every other sufferer they want their life back .

I find that young people, l don;t know how old your daughter is, but I know from personal experience that young people struggle to understand that one of their friends is ill but looks fine. I have found I ensure I surround myself with the couple of people who understand.

i ant got any friends what understand fibro at all so its just me and my partner but you dont need friends like that any way people just look at the front cover not whats on the in side so they think you a lieing like my partner when i first got with her but after 2 years she no longer thinks like that now so that helps iv been through a lot in life more then some so i just keep going like you do just be strong for your daughts friend come and go family are the one to stay with you in life bt i cant say that about me as all i have left of my is my dad and sis and my partner and kids that al you need in life to b far

Hello Michelle,

I am new to this site today. My partner is also my full time Carer, and I have told him about this site. He will also be joining. I think its a great idea, as there is heaps all of us can share and learn.
