I try not to go to the doctors because i dont particularly like them, but when i do go the answer for absolutely everything and without a proper examination is " Im afraid its just your fibro" I am on duloxitine/co-codamol/paracetamol and now clomazopam probably all spelt wrong!! P****d off is not the word for it :( x

Hi Please read the blog I have just written about the Pain Clinic, you might be very interested, and, it really does work when there is nothing else. Cheer up love, go and do something that you like doing, to take your mind off of how you are feeling, I know that is easier said than done, but most times it does work. keep positive. Lots of hugs and hope you feel better soon.

If unhappy with your Dr please change. I left it far too long but I have learnt now and realise it is the only way.

Thanks folks i was attending a pain clinic but they are happy with the way i am managing my fibro so is the CBT therapist, sleep clinic etc etc. I am a very positive person but unfortunately there is only one doctors surgery up here and one doctor that has a little knowledge of fibro/cfs so im pretty stuck. I did like the sound of the Liverpool painclinic where you go and stay away im looking to set up a support group in our area as you need to drive 1 and 1/2 hrs to the nearest one and i have trouble driving for 15 mins without feeling sleepy. x

Please Please change your doctors. I was with a totally uncaring GP who was like this and when I went to my DLA Tribunal they even commented that the report from my GP did not help my case. After letting him know how I felt in a long, scathing but truthful letter, I changed GP's. What a difference. My GP now has completely the opposite way of working. He does not rush me out of the surgery, encourages me to write things down when I am coming to appointments so we can discuss properly, and he always checks for everything else first before attributing it to my Fibro or my weight.
