Well its really up to you.. I was turned down for that sort of pain clinic as they said they couldn't help !!! So that is recorded with my GP for further use.. I go to the other branch of the pain clinic for injections ....If you walk out it may be seen as a negative that a) you didn't need it .. Or b) you refused the help by leaving ..... Unless you can get it stated you were in too much pain to stay....

I would suggest giving it a few goes. I wasn't certain the first time but afterwards I realised it would help me so was glad I stuck with it. If after a few sessions you feel it isn't helping at least you can stop knowing you did try it.

Hi Jilly I've just completed an 11 wk chronic pain prog as I was willin to try anything! It did give me some tips and techniques to use but the most I got from it is I'm made some great friends and we're now keepin in touch with each other! So if your feelin what's the point stick with it and it gives you somethin else to focus on! Good luck! Jackiex

Hi Jilly

I know that during the course it can seem quite futile but do hang on in there you may be surprised what you gain from it when you are least expecting it. We have to give things a good go if people are willing to try and help us :) good luck xgins

Hi gilly I've been attending the pain clinic for around 2 years some parts were boring and I was already implementing some of the tips and pacing.but I stuck with it as it was good to meet others who were suffering from other painful conditions. When I got to see the consultant he reffered me to a multi discipline team and put me on various meds whic has helped it was a long frustrating journey but worthwhile im not cured but I feel quiet supported. The team were excellent and gave me a chair lift and bath lift which has been a godsend. I also get pain relief injections

But it is really up to you to decide what to do. .by the time I reached the psychologist I was burnt out with the whole thing her words not mine but I can ask to be re referred when I am ready. .good luck hunni.xxxx
