I have FM but recently everytime I go out for a meal I suffer all night with nausea, acid reflux and choking feeling when laying down. Has anyone any ideas or know wether this is associated with FM before I go to bother my gp.
thanks

Hi Jancross
Had FM for some time and have never had any of those problems. I would say however that you need to talk to your GP about any health thing that is worrying you. Do you keep a food diary and do some things effect you more than others?
IBS is associated with Fibro as both have a similar method of action - IBS is just in the gut. IBS brings an increased risk of GORD/GERD (Reflux). Many medications given to people with Fibro also carry a risk of causing reflux or similar symptoms.
But these symptoms can also be caused by a number of other things, so full testing is very important.
See your GP and ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist. An endoscopy should be done to check for hiatal hernia, ulcers, etc and other tests should be done as well to rule out other problems.
I won't ask your age! But if you're over 40 and this is your first time with these symptoms then go see your doctor. Better safe than sorry!
