Hi there...I don't get pins and needles in my ears but I do suffer dreadfully from tinnitus, so I know anything relating to your ears is very painful and frustrating which makes me feel very drained :-(

I had a nasty ear infection years ago and foolishly I didn't go see my g.p. (too busy !!!) this resulted in me having a cortical and then a radical mastoidectomy, which were not very pleasant believe me and it's resulted in constant tinnitus ......I'm not a doctor, and I don't suggest that you have anything like this, but please see your g.p. our ears are very precious tools :-D

Sorry I can't be of more help - fibromyalgia is a dreadful syndrome and can raise its ugly head in many disguises, as I have discovered by research and attending support groups over the years.

I hope you get it sorted out soon and get some relief :-)

It might be a problem with a muscle called the lateral pterygoids, which are situated just behind the jawbone where you can't get at them. But at a pain clinic they can give you dry needling or an injection with a local anaesthetic into that muscle, and it might help. This muscle in spasm also causes tinnitus.

I get neuralgia in my head ans especially around my ears. The pain from that is excruciating. It might be related to TMJ and teeth clenching. So the muscles jjudith mentioned could well be involved. Mine at the moment, I'm sure, is related to the weather and atmospheric pressure. I can get tinnitus with it sometimes .... I haven't found a way to deal with it yet. Just had acupuncture yesterday and it is slightly better today....
