I am doing quite well until i over did doing things in the garden with the terrific weather we have been having in Stilingshire. I was wondering if anyone can answer a problem i am having ?

I have been having terrible taste problems.... my tastebuds make everything i eat...sweet or savoury... taste very very bitter almost bile taste or no taste at all. I have looked at any changes in my meds & the only changes are going from .5mg ropinirole to 1mg for my restless leg.

I have been on HRT for about 6weeks...to my surprise i feel better & do not sweat as i did, i was almost housebound to the condition & feel i have been given a new lease of life. My family & freindas have saiad i look a lot better.. i today i am paying for overdoing it... seems i just won,t listen to my body & paece myself.

I hope like i said that fibromites are well take care, Mary xxx.

Welcome to the community,

I think most people with Fibro including myself can relate to that day when you have done too much and you know you'll soon experience a flare because of this exertion.I have no experiences of HRT to help you but others might and the taste problem I have never had a problem with either. Just thought I'd say 'Hello' and mention about the information on the internet about pacing, graded exercise therapy and relaxation techniques. I thought it may be of interest. Many people talk about the 'Boom & Bust' or 'Push & Crash' cycle as explained in this thread below,

fibroaction.healthunlocked....

Enjoy chatting in the community to others living with Fibromyalgia who have empathy & understanding. Please feel free to look at our website fibroaction.org which has a wealth of helpful information.

I hope other members may share similar experiences to that you have mentioned which may be of help.

Best Wishes

Emma :)

I think its only natural to overdo things when you have a little energy you have to make the most of it and get things done because we don't know when we will get the chance again

I've spent time at a chronic pain management coarse and completely understand pacing not to run the engine on empty!!!! as they put it and that is all well and good in theory but when your a mum and have house to keep and cloths to wash and iron pacing isn't practical ! I do however watch myself and organise myself better ! For instance if I have ironing I will stay in and just focus on that , I don't get myself ready go out and then come back and iron ( I was doing that for years and leaving myself in agony !) so I have manage to pace !!!!!

Don't overload your day , take your time and don't beat yourself up if you can't get everything done!!!?? Reward yourself if you've had a good day and enjoy things in your own fibro way !!

Take care x
