Hi all. I am starting meds for a min stims FET tomorrow. I am on away at a spa hotel and I am wondering if anyone can advise me whether a sea swim is ok or a no go? I will avoid the saunas/steam rooms due to the extreme heat. But would love a dip in the sea. This is the Irish sea btw so cold! Thanks.

Sea swim before FET

HI. NO sea or swimming pools while trying or in early pregnanct, due to possible inhectiom. Diane
I had a similar thought about loch swimming after an FET. I was told by the consultant pools are fine. This transfer I’m staying clear of both for a while.
My clinic advises no due to infection risk xx Good luck x
if you havent actually had the FET and are only just starting meds you can have a sauna and steam room no problem! Not afterwards though once embryo is on board is when the body temp thing is important for embryo development. I would actually do them both rather than a freezing Irish sea swim tbh as the heat is meant to help circulation for your lining etc and relaxing 😌 in the lead up to transfer is a great thing to do. Sea swim- the issue is goodness knows what you could catch from it a few weeks before a transfer I probably wouldn’t do it but saying that I went in the Canarian sea in my 2WW (in July so it was a nice temp lol) and that FET was successful xx
I would avoid it.
