Hi BeJeMo, it’s really up to you. Whilst clinics will give you an OTD, this varies between clinics so you could try and hold to test a few days before? For example, my official test date was 11dp5dt with my current clinic, but previously I had 14dp5dt so now I know 2 full weeks aren’t needed!

A lot of women test early and use progression lines to see if anything changes, but it can also lead to a lot of anxiety and upset before OTD.

Whatever you do, wishing you a positive outcome! ☺️

I am now in the TWW and won’t be testing early. I can’t cope with the emotional rollercoaster.

Every clinic gives there own dates, so there is no correct day to test, some say as early as 9dp5dt. If you use an early detection test you will get a positive as early as 5 or 6dp5dt. Sometimes if it's a chemical pregnancy you will get a positive quite early, but by test say or soon after it's negative again. Personally I would want to know of I had a chemical.

Do what feels right to you. The days the clinics give is arbitrary, as they all give different dates. And it will not change the outcome.

Just make sure if you test early to also do a test on the day the clinic give you.

I always have a result by day 8 past a 5 day transfer if you use a pink dye early detection one. It can of course change to negative if it’s a chemical but I’d rather know that’s what happened than not! You still need to test on test day though for it to be ‘official’ for your clinic. One thing to remember is if it’s a fresh transfer then you you should wait until 10 days after you had the trigger shot before egg collection or you might get a false positive xx

my clinic advised 11 days post transfer and I waited until then every time! For me personally I couldn’t handle the anxiety of testing all the time, it’s bad enough on test day and I knew that the most accurate result is the day they’ve advised, so less second guessing and less of an emotional rollercoaster but everyone is different, it’s a difficult time to get though so do what you feel you need to do. Good luck! Xx

My clinic test day was 11dpt, I tested 6dpt...I know that around that date you should definitely see a faint line if it has worked so I end up testing as I couldn't wait any longer.Wishing you all the best x

I did 5 transfers. With the 4 that failed I always tested early. With the 5th one that was positive I waited until day 13 test day and convinced myself that I was being rewarded for doing it properly and not cheating that time 😆 I know it’s rubbish but I was actually also a lot less stressed on the tww I stopped obsessing and just waited to test day x
