I am 30 years old and I went for a transvaginal scan yesterday at cycle day 15 and she said my lining is fine at 10.9mm thick and my ovaries are normal size however my right ovary only contains 5 ovarian follicles measuring less than 1 cm (not enough eggs and not big enough). And my left ovary contains 9 ovarian follicles the largest measuring 8.6 × 5.4 mm (enough eggs but far too small).
Unfortunately, as my largest follicle is only measuring very small, I am unable to get pregnant. Have you ever had eggs that have been that small? Do you know if they can get bigger? Can I get medication to cure this?

Difficult to tell if you have started treatment or having the scan as part of investigations for infertility ? If you have a longer menstrual cycle [ not everyone has a regular cycle of 28 days ] may still be time for the follicles on the left side to get bigger . Might be an idea to see your GP if trying for a baby For more info about fertility issues [ investigations - treatment - emotional support] please take a look at our website fertilitynetworkuk.org
Thank you so much for your comment. I haven’t started treatment yet, as my cycles are irregular, I decided to go for a pelvic/fertility scan to see what was going on and that was the result last night. She told me I couldn’t get pregnant with follicle sizes that low. With my lining being 10.9mm and ready for the egg, she said if the follicles did grow, my lining would shed and they aren’t in harmony/working together. Do you think there’s anything out there that can support with follicle growth? I am in touch with my doctor today and waiting on his phone call 😢
Best idea is to see your GP and he can put you on the right road If your periods are irregular he can give you medication to help regulate them He will check your bloods etc and then see how best he can help you
HI. I think you mean follicle growth.mits those that need to grow to enable eggs to fit in during IVF wmith just one maturing during a natural process. There are different medications to. Help with different fertility problems. Good luck with whatever you try. Diane
