Has anyone used Access Fertility to fund their cycles? Whats the realistic cost? I’ve heard good things about CRGH in London but the price oh my word!

Hi, I used access fertility. The prices vary clinic to clinic. I paid £12k for 2 cycles with unlimited transfers and no refund. Meds are extra. It's a lot of money Infront but I felt I had to do it. After 4 failed transfers paying as I went I liked the unlimited transfers. Typically it worked first time! Obviously not complaining about that but it is typical! Another company I looked into was GAIA where you pay most of the money afterwards.

I used Access Fertility at CRGH. Did the 2 cycles with unlimited transfer and no refund. Also had success first time round. It definitely made me more relaxed knowing I had two goes and could transfer all the eggs I got if necessary. I think it was about £11/12 k but it was 5 years or so ago now, so I expect it's a bit more now.

Hi, like everyone else said it does differ from clinic to clinic, but we are paying 10,500 for a multicycle package, 2 rounds of icis, medication isn't included, but when we asked for a rough price with everything she told us we would be looking at around 14,000 with everything if that helps, good luck

Thanks for sharing, could you get the meds on NHS from the pharmacy?

Good question, unfortunately I'm not to sure about that, as we're not starting the second round until February, I'm sure someone will answer your question x

As far as I'm aware, it's not possible to get meds on the NHS if your paying privately for treatment.

NHS does not dispense private prescriptions. You only get meds on NHS as part of NHS treatment.

Apparently Asda do IVF meds at cost price. Worth enquiring.

So we went with access multi cycle, cost us £8500 upfront three years ago(I was 36 and we needed icsi). The multi cycle allows for two egg collections and unlimited frozen transfer of all embryos from those rounds - you have to complete a full round and all transfers before going for the second egg collection, you cannot embryo bank. There is no refund with this option but also not medical required and everyone is accepted, unlike the refund options.

In my first egg collection we created 7 embryos. Over the following year we had five transfers of the frozen, which resulted in; first fresh transfer failed, frozen transfer chemical, frozen transfer of two embryos chemical, frozen transfer of two embryos bfp but miscarriage at 9 weeks, final frozen fail.

We have just had our second egg collection, got 4 embryos and opted for PGTA testing at extra cost (about £2700) and have two healthy embryos and will be proceeding with transfer soon.

In the multi cycle, what you pay covers the costs of all the egg collection and transfer procedures (which is about £2500 per frozen transfer and about £5000 for egg collection each time). Meds were extra and pretty crazy prices, ranging from £2500 for egg collection rounds, and between £200-£1000 for frozen rounds.

Then you have to consider any extras you may want or need, so things like embryo glue, endometrial scratch, PGTA testing, or any other extras.

In total, so far we have spent a bit over £25000 including the initial £8500 to access. Believe it or not, this is a lot less than we would have spent without the access arrangement as we would have then been paying for every procedure also, so for us it was definitely worth it.

We of course did think we would be lucky and everything would work first or second time, in which case you pay over may pay a little over the odds for it, but with us as it has taken longer - with no real medical explanation as to why -access have paid out far more than the amount we paid them so it was definitely worth it.

Best of luck x

I also used access fertility. I bought a 3 cycle package for about £12000 with partial refund if unsuccessful. You have to use all of your embryos to access the refund. It does not include meds or any extras so the cost will vary depending on what else you need. The extras for me cost about an extra £3000 for each attempt. We spent about £22000 in total.
