Access fertility plan ???

Has anyone used the access fertility plan ? We seen a leaflet at the clinic we’re using and we’re wondering if anyone had any advice on it ? We were just gonna go ahead and try it once ourselves and hope for the best and then hopefully we get lots of eggs and they can be frozen if it doesn’t happen for us 1st time and then just basically fee to transfer again rather than having to do whole process again but not sure wether to take the chance or not ? Or pay a little more with access fertility and be guaranteed 2/3 shots ????

Hello LCB83 i did do the access fertility plan on the 3 cycle 50% refund plan on our 1st consultation i was given a 33% sucess rate. I debated a while about this as its a gamble what ever happens. We always said we would try 3 times as already spent out on a failed reversal. We asked for a quote on cost of a cycle as we are doing ICSI and it is alot cheaper if your 1st or 2nd cycle fail. I would ask the clinic you choose to give a quote for a single cycle and see how you feel if you had to pay it again. It is a hard choice but that helped me and doing probability. ☺

Ultrasound scans were also included in the package.

They haven’t really given me a success rate is that something they always do ?

Going by all the replies I think I’m maybe better going with it as there is a lot of pressure as it is so that’s 1 less thing to worry about if it doesn’t work first time , good luck if your journey x

Im not sure if everyone get a predicted sucess rate at first consultation as ive only used this clinic. I presumed most places did as I was offered 50% or 70% refund package but i decided on 50% based on the sucess rate.

We bought the 3 plan, 50% refund plan last May for ICSI. We are now on shot no 3!!! Only thing you have to pay for is the drugs. We decided that if the 3 plan doesn't work then we would get enough money back for 1 more shot at it!

I didn't want to do it at first because I was that convinced it would work first time!! Next cycle will be our 4th in total!!

Good luck whatever you decide x

Hiya.

We signed up to to the 3 cycle 100% refund programme.

I had my 1st go last October. I did get pregnant from that but sadly miscarried in December. From that cycle we have 4 little frosties waiting to go.

If we would have paid the clinic direct we would have spent well over £5000 already. With costs for conversion to icsi and paying extra for freezing the embies.

I think in my case its worth it. Hopefully next time we will get a better out come.

Xx

It’s a lot emotional eh !! Hopefully next time u have a better outcome from ur 4 wee Frosties 💛 I’m thinking I’ll have to look into it more now as everyone has been really positive in it x

I think it has taken some of the pressure off by paying upfront. I felt a lot calmer knowing that i didnt have to find the money again.

I had my 1 and only NHS funded cycle in may last year and all i worried about was finding the cash should it fail. Lucky for us my hubbys parents gave us the money for the access programme.

in reply toMrsgled1982

Yeah see that’s my I’m thinking the now if we fail 1st time then it’s worrying about money again my hubby says just stay positive which I am but u can’t help but worry about this side of it ! X

Hi

We are doing the access 3 cycle 50% refund package too. We knew we were prepared to do more than one cycle and it was a better deal for the 3 than 2. Currently doing our first access cycle (had 2 previously on nhs). It takes the pressure off knowing we have two more chances but on the flip side im not sure I can face another 2!

Our clinic offered multi cycle packages for slightly less but with no refund option so we decided to go with access. Everyone's priorities are different though so depends what you want. Good luck deciding xx

in reply toEl1a80

Yeah I seen the multi cycle plan aswel think the access is a much better deal too and after discussing with hubby he says we are doing it more than once if it fails so maybe is a good option for us ! Good luck on ur journey x

In hindsight, I think if I had been able to access this treatment package when I was getting started I would have gone for it. Wishing you luck in your decision x

in reply toDunla

Think I’m swaying towards this now , good luck to u also x

Oh that's a bit of a tough decision. I looked at this and thought, wow that's an awful lots of money but cycles and frozen transfers do mount up however and the big however for me is I was unable to say at the start how many times I would be able to put myself through this after having done 3 NHS cycles....the failures really do mess with your head and that put me off a bit as we both weren't sure we had it in us....especially my other half. We are plodding on with no success so in hindsight we may manage more than 1 cycle but who know...just the gamble you take!!xx

in reply toCinderella5

I haven’t had a cycle yet so I’m going into this blind , Im aware it’s going to be not only an emotional rollercoaster but a physical one too so the less pressure and stress the better so maybe is a good way forward for us ! It is a gamble but I think the end prize will be worth the xtra money if we do get lucky 1st time . Thank u and good luck xx

Ahhh I wasnt aware this was your first round. If we had been going straight to private as no fundin was given then yes I would asbolutely try this....Ive had a few rounds so we would have been one of the ones that benefited! Best os luck, hope it all works out for you too!xx

I did the access fertility 2 cycle 50% refund package after we had our 1 and only nhs cycle as the nhs cycle failed and I got 0 eggs to freeze which meant we had to pay straight away after the fresh cycle. We were very lucky and for pregnant on the 1st of the access fertility cycles and I’m currently sat here with my now 5 week old daughter but I would still highly recommend the access fertility package as although we paid more than we would have for the one cycle it took off that pressure of hoping it will work and I think that helped a lot x

in reply toLaura3101

That’s the thing the pressure and after reading everyone’s responses it’s been all positive and ur right even if we end up paying more for 1 cycle to work it’s worth it in the end ! Thank you and congratulations on ur baby girl 💜

Hi there

We took out the three time 50% refund plan with Access. We had done our first NHS round which resulted in a BFN with no frosties. We then started our Access cycles but the first one had to be cancelled due to cysts and a bad reaction to the drugs. Access didn’t count that cycle as one of our goes and they covered the cancellation charge with our fertility clinic. We were then incredibly lucky to fall on our next Access round with twins (with two Frosties still) and although it would of been cheaper for us to pay per cycle direct, I found the Access plan took the pressure off and gave us a back up plan (the 50% refund).

I hope that helps. Xx

in reply toKloulou83

Thank you , yeah I’m thinking it will take the pressure off and if we are prepared to go thorough it init fails then maybe the best way forward !! Congratulations on the twins 💛
