Follow on from PGTA results

Good evening Following two failed FET cycles, we've had PGTA testing carried out on our three remaining blastocysts.

We got the results of 2 euploid and 1 low level mosaic.

I understand these are great results but the question to me now is why have they not stuck in the past. We need to wait 3 weeks until our follow up appointment to decide on next steps with the consultant but wondered if anyone had any experience on what we should be asking or looking for from the clinic now?

Thank you

have you done the ERA, EMMA + ALICE tests? This willl check all bacteria levels are okay + that the day of transfer your lining is receptive. Also have you done the blood test to check forNK cells?

Before your next FET, I would highly recommend a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis and hydrosalpinx.

Thanks, I had surgery for endometriosis in June and hydrosalpinx removed so hopefully covered this one

Have you had a hysteroscopy? If not I would ask about that and also getting your NK cells checked.

We’ve had a few failed transfers, chemicals and one miscarriage. My consultant won’t do ERA as he says it’s out dated. It also may be worth speaking to a RI x

Good luck xx

Hi implantation failure is the hardest thing to understand. I had 4 failed transfers (none PGTA tested) and my clinic told me to just keep going which annoyed me. They wouldn't do the ERA, ALICE and EMMA tests and I was told that laparoscopy and hysteroscopy were extreme measure.

I assumed all my embryos must be abnormal so I moved clinic and on my next batch I did PGTA and 4/6 were euploid so really can't work out why they previously failed. I asked new clinic about testing and again was told it's all down to the embryo and they don't advocate additional testing which was super frustrating. I did what they said and did a natural transfer with nothing additional and somehow the first one with them stuck!!! I'm still confused how it all suddenly worked!

it’s hardest and cruel situation unfortunately era, Alice, Emma, and PGTA don’t prove itself under clinical trails so clinic trying to save heartache of giving hope over certainty when it boils down to mystery of embryo and stars align randomly it works. There is a really good and long bbc article that goes through all latest investigations into ivf. I’m finding it heartbreaking after four FET failures.

I had success after antibiotics treatment ost emma/alice. Worth taking vaginal probiotics anyway too. Theres been a great shift in their use irrespective of tests.

Hi, I would recommend a biopsy to check for nk cells and endometritis. Both these came back positive for me so was good to have treatment and protocol in place before my last fet. All the best xx

Hi lovely, I had two euploids fail to implant, so I did loads more tests including some reproductive immunology and I ended up on loads of different meds for the third transfer (which was a mosaic) and that worked thankfully and my baby is 10 months old now. It’s so hard to know what to test though as there are a million and one variables. If you have endo then it’s likely you’ll need some immunology drugs like steroids. Wishing you so much luck 🤞🏼

Have you had an endometrial biopsy (Receptiva, EMMA or ALICE)? Sometimes the endometrium can resist implantation because of inflammation due to an imbalance of uterine bacteria. Ask your provider. And Google the above three tests to get a better idea. Good luck! Great PGT-A results!
