Hi guys,
just wanted to ask a quick question about workout during IVF.
did anyone continue on doing their workouts during IVF or they stopped after the Embroy transfer.
p.s I am still on the waiting list?
thanks all x

hi I’ve not got to transfer stage yet, but I’ve still exercised through stims for all 3 rounds - light exercise, weights & conditioning, and yoga. No running, HIIT, twisting or burpees (which I’m ok about 🤣), but I think everyone is different and depends what you’re used to.
My friend has had a lot of transfers and sometimes she’s taken the 2 weeks off and just chilled & walked the dog, other times business as usual & she couldn’t say either way made things better or worse.
For me, training is a great distraction, it’s normality and it’s routine so good for my mental health, but I don’t want it I cause damage of course so I take it easy.
Best of luck
Hi. Check with your clinic, but I think you will find that a more gentle routine would be better. Don’t want to upset the hormones. Good luck. Diane
I think it’s very important to feel good (as much as possible) during ivf so if exercising is essential for your well being - make sure to maintain it but consider modifications to be on a safe side.
I found it difficult to continue with my normal exercising during the stimulation (enlarged ovaries and bloating) and after egg collection because I was sore. I stuck to more gentle routine - very gentle yoga (without any deep twists and inversions though), swimming and of course walking.
I continued to strength train after embryo transfer and throughout pregnancy (my baby boy arrived two weeks ago). I did modify my workouts, essentially trained on the assumption I was pregnant from embryo transfer and reduced intensity etc. It’s very individual, you have to do what feels right for you.
