I’m a single mum of an autistic boy (conceived naturally and no issues with pregnancy,by hypoxia was harmful for the baby during birth). Now,when my kid is already 9 and things are getting better with him, I passed through ivf with a friend who agreed to become a donor. I had only 3 eggs during the stim cycle, and two eggs were collected naturally. So the result after PGT-A is only one healthy 6 days 4 bb embryo which was transferred 3 days ago. Now the wait until I can do pregnancy test is awful and all web resources say that in my age the chance of successful pregnancy is only 5%;((((
can anyone please share your success stories of ivf if any in my age ?
thank you

Hi yes - my baby was born 4 weeks before my 44th birthday. Born 4 weeks early and due date was a couple of days before my birthday. My first was stillborn at full term and I was 39, 6 weeks before my 40th birthday (conceived naturally).
4 fresh transfers - all failed between January 2022 - June 2023. Tried both day 5 and 3 transfers and add-ons during my final fresh transfer in June 2023. Final transfer was a frozen transfer (late November 2023) at day 3. Has my 3 embryos frozen at pro nuclei day stage which is day 1 after fertilisation). They were frozen the year before - late October 2022.
I’m 44, currently 22 weeks pregnant from 5th ivf cycle with own eggs, eggs were collected one week before my 44th birthday. 8 fertilised embryos but not PGT tested. My chances of this cycle working were less than 5%. My last 3 cycles failed so it is a miracle to have got this far. I still have such a long way to go and am struggling every day, but the struggle is worth it and I’m fighting every day for my little one. So it is possible at this age, you just need the golden egg and hopefully you have just that. I hope this helps a little and Stay hopeful as and when you can.
Sending so much love and best wishes to every woman here (and the supporting Partners, loved ones), whatever stage you are at- it’s truly hard and exhausting but none of us are alone and I for one am thinking of you all and hoping for a happy ending for all of us.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much! This is reassuring! Good like to you and hopefully the pregnancy will be easier for you! At least, the weather is heading to winter and it’s better for pregnancy.
I’m just trying to see how long I can wait. Will try to wait as long as day 10 after transfer if I can, for the blood test, but I’m very tempted to test earlier. On day 2 I felt my breasts became bigger and today (day 4) the nipples became very tender and sensitive. This is exactly what I felt during my first two natural pregnancies. Also the mood swings are quite noticeable. So at least I can recognise two signs! Did you feel anything like this before your test?
Well they are positive signs 😀 I felt similar but I was on medication which I think mimics alot of things. The only difference with this one was I had an achy lower back which I never get so that’s why I tested early. Something else I didn’t really do
hi Beclp, I actually tested today and yes it’s faint positive, but today is only day 5 after transfer. So will do tomorrow another one!
thanks a lot for your incredible support and sharing experience!
I also noticed the lower back pain for the past three days , my breast became bigger and mood swings are awful ! Also my sleep deteriorated. But I pray the pregnancy develops well!
I did have the trigger shot, but I booked my blood test for tomorrow morning already. The fatigue and sense of smells is something that I recall from my first pregnancy and it’s back now too.
Not me directly but my best friend just gave birth at 43 with ivf baby, untested embryo too. I know its easier said than done but try not to consume yourself in the statistics. You might be that 5% 🙏 You have a healthy embryo on board, praying this is the one for you xx
