hi lovely, I hope you’re well. When I’ve taken Lubion they have advised to just stick to same time either morning or pm, I don’t think it matters when you do it as I imagine you’d also be using the Pessaries? . Unfortunately for me Lubion hasn’t been the nicest but it depends on how your body reacts, the tips I was given was to warm up the vial against your skin for a couple of minutes before application, and also to rub the area after it has gone in , and to pull skin taut before the injection. Wishing you all the best of luck 🤞🏼
Hi Daisy-Delilah, Lubion isn't pleasant but like everything in this IVF life, you will be a pro fairly soon! I didn't find them stingy, but found the circle round the injection tender for most of the day after (I took them in the morning). I didn't bruise. The fluid is a little thicker than some of the others so the syringes require a bit more oomph but once you figure that out it isn't a problem at all. I was told to pick a time that suits (any time) and stick to it within an hour or so, so I took them every morning as I could control when I got up. If I needed to alter the time I did it over a couple of days. (One morning I had to be on a train really early so took my injections half an hour earlier for the two days before it so I wasn't out of time by the third day). They have side effects - the headaches and low mood were the worst for me - but the worst of that should settle down after a couple of days. Good luck and hoping it helps keep your pregnancy going strong x
No I didn't take anything. I just made sure to have a chilled couple of days when going on to/coming off of the injections. I have seen some people on here say they also iced the area before they did the injection as apparently that helps with the tenderness. Also, I found that once I'd pinched the skin if I slackened it slightly between my fingers before injection it was easier x
I found the lower down your stomach I did it the less painful it is. For all my stims I just grabbed a bit of fat somewhere just under my belly button, but I've found with lubion if I pinch the skin lower down towards the groin area it's much less uncomfortable. I also try and switch up the placement slightly every day as it ends up feeling super tender/sore if you stick to the same location every day. Good luck and congrats on the bfp xx
Hi, so your clinic did the right thing by prescribing Lubion, it really helps. My clinic told me to pick a time then stick to it everyday. I couldn't inject myself as I'm terrified of needles so my husband has been injecting me while I look away. So we picked 10pm everynight and stuck to that time. My husband struggled sometimes with the syringes as they were a bit stiff but we managed. We injected on the sides of my thigh and alternated sides. Sometimes the area around the injection site was a bit swollen but usually was OK the next day. Sometimes there were bruises for a few days but I didn't mind this too much. Anyway congratulations on your BFP and wish you all the best on your journey. Xx
I found the best thing was warming up the liquid before injecting (by just holding the vial in my hand). I think it’s quite viscous so maybe that’s why you struggled to press down the syringe. I then iced the area before injecting for a minute and for a minute afterwards and by doing those things I found it really fine. Good luck! Xxx
I was on for 12 weeks I just did them before bed, they can bruise but they aren’t as bad as clexane (which I was on at the same time) I find it worse someone else doing it. Just find a bit that it slides in easily and push slowly as if you go too fast it can spill out a bit (and it’s sticky liquid), give the syringe a wee wiggle before you begin and just take your time. 🤗 they aren’t so bad xx
I’ve just finished 14 weeks of them and I can tell you I am glad. They are horrible and you will more than likely get bruising but as others have said alternate sides and the lower on the belly the less painful. They will sting just after and I found I could always tell where the last one had been for at least 24hours and at the beginning the bruising and pain was worse. Sorry it’s not more positive but as long as you remind yourself why you’re doing them you’ll get through it. My one piece of advice is where lose waistbands or higher ones as I found anything that was tight over that area was horrible. Wishing you all the luck!xx
I've found icing the area for a couple of minutes before hand helps, and then pinching some fat so you're injecting into a little cold gathered section, if that makes sense! Then press the skin for a minute after, the pressure helps with bruising.
you can choose what time of day is best for you. We went with 7am and 7pm so we could work it around when my husband was here. But the occasional day a little early or late is ok.
You’ll find a rhythm with it. For me I used ice before and after, and I found I was really tense and flinching which actually made it hurt more. What worked for me was to completely relax. My husband counts to 3 and injects on 3 so I prepare and then breathe out on the injection. That worked really well for us but you’ll find your own way.
The syringe is just really stiff so it takes a while to inject. Just make sure you push the needle on really firmly as once the syringe popped off from the pressure whilst he was injecting so we lost all the liquid and had to use another one. It’s such thick liquid.
I've been using lubion injections now for quite a while as I started about 2wks prior to my FET & currently in the last cpl days of the 2WW. I literally pinch the fat below the belly button but off to either side not directly underneath, I find when I apply a bit pressure once it's thru the skin it slides in usually pain-free, once I did have a bit soreness but mostly it's been fine I just make sure I push the liquid in slow and wait 5-10 seconds before removing the needle to let it dissipate so it doesn't leak out. I've had no bruising from this.
I bruised a lot on my belly from it but found out you can also do them in your thighs and started doing them like that. No -to-very little bruising in the thighs for me. Good luck!
Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to respond. Sorry I haven’t replied to everyone yet. Some really great tips here - and some I wish I’d read before our first jab as we had a mini disaster as I think the needle wasn’t on properly, hubby pressed quite hard and the syringe popped off and exploded everywhere 🙈 the needle was bent and still in me but liquid everywhere!
Hopefully no future incidents but now I’m terrified of doing it and I’m not sure I can do it on my own when hubby is away 😬
