Help needed Qestions

I would be so appreciative if you could help me.

I am 37 and recently diagnosed with poi. My doctor has been fantastic and supportive but has openly said that he knows very little about my condition and specifics for helping me with the symptoms of it.

Q.1 Could i be on the wrong estrogen?

I am still having periods, I want to have children, Me and my partner have started trying naturally...

I am on 75 evorel patches for eaostrogen and the idea is to up my dose to 200. Depending on how im feeling.

I do feel better but not myself yet, still low energy, severe brain damage, fuzzy head and weight gain waking in the night and mood swings. So i do want to keep upping the estrogen as thats meant to help.

But the side effect of breast pain and weight gain (over 3 months of so much pain and enlargement) I dont know what to do.

could it be the brand of estrogen?

I do still want body identical

Q.2 Could it be the progesterone messing me up?

Im on body-identical progesterone (my cycle is 25 days so for half the month i dont take it then the other half i do take it).

I sleep so well when i take it.

Q.3 Should my boobs be this painful?

I worry all of the time that im doing something wrong, but i feel like theirs no one to ask

Q.4 Do any of you know of support groups for poi in the southwest?

Thank you x x x

Jazz

Hi Jazz, sorry for all you're going through. I just know that my body doesn't respond well to estrogen when I was put on it for one of my transfers even though the clinic assures me that generally women respond well to it. So it could well be that that brand/dosage isn't agreeing with you and might be worthwhile changing it and seeing how you feel. The breast pain sounds quite severe for you so getting something that improves that would be good. Sometimes with these hormones it is a bit of trial and error which is really frustrating until you get the combination that works for you.

Thanks so much, this is a great reminder to go back to my dr again and get this sorted.

Thank you

I know it's so exhausting having to constantly advocate for yourself but really good that you have a doctor who's supportive and upfront about not knowing too much about it. Another conversation might be helpful.

Hi. I would go straight to ivf. At 37, you have a better chance than when you are closer to 40. I can recommend an ivf clinic but it’s in London. I’m also from South West so have a long journey.

I’m 43 and have high fsh. I had to do ivf due to male factor. I have a son but my hormone levels started to change closer to 41. Now I have blastocysts but hormones are affecting my lining thickness.

Oestrogen priming, ubiquinol and wheatgrass would work lower fsh and maximise follicle count. Also, check your vitamin d. If it is low, make sure you increase it. I get 1000iu plus what is in Pregnacare. It is very difficult to have too much. You only need to be careful in pregnancy.

Not what you're looking for?
