First cycle on clomid and gave it a really good try this time…going on 3 years of trying “naturally”.. Husband and i both have been eating very clean for 3 months and on Zita West vitamins.
Due to get my period today…. and tested negative.
Does anyone else feel silly or disappointed in yourself for thinking this cycle would be different?
Perhaps worse, not believing a negative test until you actually get your period?
Any tips on trying to stay positive to get the momentum to keep trying at the same level the next cycle?
Hoping to get my NHS referral for IUI or IVF after appointment in September. Right after my 35th birthday.

Yes, so many times, it's especially cruel when your period turns up a few days late so you've allowed yourself to get even more hopeful. I would get BFNs then spend ages googling 'false negatives / negative test then positive etc etc', until inevitably my period would arrive. The constant cycle of hope and disappointment is really draining though so don't ever feel silly. I would normally use my period arriving as an excuse to drink wine, have a day feeling sad then start again. If you can try not to test until you're really late, I pretty much stopped testing because seeing the stark white space just added insult to injury! Hope your NHS referral comes through soon xx
I could have written this post 2 years ago… in fact I wrote one very similar! I just want to say don’t loose hope.
I almost had at 41 we had been trying for 2.5 years and was told our chances were very poor due to low Amh and that ivf probably wouldn’t work! I waited a long time to get clomid and pinned all my hopes on it’ the first three cycles failed and I thought it was useless, we were due to start ivf on my next cycle but then we got our miracle and I got pregnant on our 4th try of clomid and I’m sat her with my baby who is almost one. I had her at 42. I know how hard it is but I’m here to tell you don’t give up because you never know what is around the corner. Good luck x
Buttontin do you have any advice for trying to make sense of Clomid cycle? I’m day 30 in my cycle and haven gotten my period (usually very regular 27 day cycle). Have been cramping most of the TWW and cramps continue. 4 negative pregnancy tests now.
to be totally honest I can’t remember exactly, I just remember I hated being on clomid I felt horrible on it, so many odd symptoms, so hormonal, different pregnancy symptoms when I wasn’t, I found it very tough but worth it! I’m keeping everything crossed for you!
