The embryologist has just called with a Day 3 update and so far we have 4 out of 7 fertilised embryos at Grade 1 (the top grade) and 7-8 cells. The other 3 are Grades 3 and 4 so probably won't make it, but the fact that we have four front runners is such good news and means I'll hopefully have a decent blast this time round.*
Things I've done differently this round include methylfolate instead of folic acid (turns out I have a faulty MTHFR gene), taking a little more care with my diet and changing our sperm donor.
This morning I was feeling so hopeless and imagining what I'll do when it doesn't work. But the thing about hope is that it never really goes away, otherwise I wouldn't still be doing IVF.
So for now, I hope.
Edit 15th July: I have one 3BC blast on day 5 which we have just transferred. There are two they're keeping their eye on but given my last cycle where none were good enough to freeze at day 6 I'm not holding out much hope. If this embryo doesn't stick then it's over for me.
*For reference, in round 2 I also had 7 embryos, but only 1 was Grade 1 and that became an early blast at Day 5 and ended in BFP. The others were Grades 2-4 and degraded by Day 6.
