Coasting, has anyone done this before?

Hey everyone. I’m on my 2nd round of IVF going through stims currently. Scan on Wednesday shown good growth, follicles around 16-17mm. After taking my bloods they then rang me and said to not take menopur for the next two nights to prevent OHSS as my hormone levels were at 24,000. Apparently it’s called coasting.

I’ve got another scan tomorrow but can’t help but over think it all and worry.

Egg collection is on Monday so I’m praying my hormone levels will come down but it not affect any follicle growth.

Has anyone been through a similar experience?

unfortunately my hormone levels were too high and my egg collection has been cancelled

Im so sorry, what a devastating result. I think it’s definitely for the best if your levels were that high as OHSS can be deadly but still really upsetting to go through a cancelled cycle. Hope you’re feeling ok and are looking after yourself

Thank you for your kind words. Can’t help but feel like we’ve fallen at the first hurdle. Similar to my last round. Difficult to accept as well when I had a good number of eggs would have been collected.

Hoping my third round they will get the drug dosage right for me.
