Prolactin

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing ok. We’ve had two cycles of IVF, the first of which produced two early blastocysts which were transferred fresh but didn’t succeed, and the second of which produced two 4BB blastocysts (one of which was transferred fresh but didn’t succeed, and the other is now in the freezer). I’ve had bloods done before our next attempt, and my prolactin is high - 601. Does anyone have experience of dealing with this / any tips? I’m finding it all a bit overwhelming at the moment so any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks so much x

Hi, I’ve been through several rounds of IUI & IVF and also have a high prolactin level (average around 800).

My fertility clinic put me on a medication called ‘Dostinex’ which lowers your prolactin down to a normal level. I’ve had it tested throughout to check it remains at a normal level.

When on this medication, they advise you to stop taking it as soon as you become pregnant.

I’ve had four pregnancies (3 miscarriages, not related to the prolactin, and now 13 weeks pregnant)

Hi clematis, I had very high prolactin and my acupuncturist made up some herbs fir me to take which lowered it significantly.
