side effects after first gonal F dose

Hello all,

I've just started a freeze all cycle on the short protocol. Had my first Gonal F injection last night 200iu dose. This morning I've woken up with the worst headache, an upset stomach and generally feeling shitty. I get a lot of headaches anyway (chronic migraine) and there are a lot of bugs going round at the moment but I can't help but wonder if its the Gonal F and am worrying that I'm gonna feel this much like shit the whole way through!

I know there is a real variety in how much people get side effects but for those who did get side effects from Gonal F - did you have side effects from the first dose or was it more gradual?

Does it sound more like a bug or am I in for a full on headache fest for the next few weeks!?

Cheers all for any replies!

Hey I did find Gonal F tough for the first few days but then my body adjusted! I was on a very high amount (450 iu) and I felt nauseous, exhausted, kinda ill in general, dizzy and had headaches too. Hang in there and hopefully it will ease off after a couple of days!

Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry to hear you had a rough time but it's really reassuring that your body adjusted! I hope mine will too

Yes, I had the same side effect like someone is hitting my head with a hammer every morning, but it would not last longer thankfully. Otherwise constipation is a general side effect of all hormonal meds for me. Thanks. Good luck & God bless.

Thank you for your reply! I’m feeling slightly better today after my second dose than yesterday so I’m feeling hopeful this hammer in the head feeling doesn’t last the whole way through stims!

you could let your clinic know and also see what your hormone blood levels are like - in my case I felt awful when my estrogen was super high. It lead to early ovulation and they adapted for a different protocol the following cycle and I felt amazing the second round because my estrogen was way lower even though I was on a higher dose of gonal f the second time.

Ah thank you so much for sharing your experience. That must have been a nightmare ovulating early in the cycle!

If it doesn’t keep improving/gets worse again I’ll give my clinic a call. I’ve got a scan and blood test on Monday so will be interested to see what my estrógen levels are doing
