Spare Lentogest progesterone to dispose

Hi, I am taking a break from fertility treatments after a traumatic medical accident at a private clinic in central London. I still have three vials of Lentogest expiring next April (see picture) from my last transfer.

I don't know if the clinic deliberately over prescribed these so they could earn more sales commissions or if they were genuinely bad at simple maths. I just know that they wasted me a lot money on these unnecessary over-prescriptions.

I don't want these meds around my flat through the summer as I feel I have to put them in the fridge through heatwaves. I know I shouldn't chuck them in the bin and I am supposed to bring them back to my clinic for disposal.

However I was so traumatised by the accident which resulted in a wasted cycle and how horribly the clinic treated me. I don't want to be anywhere near this clinic.

I did wonder if Boots might take it, but I just feel a bit awkward to give them these out of blue.

Let me know if anyone is happy to do me a favour and dispose them properly. I will post them to you. Many thanks.

Sorry you had such a traumatic experience.Any pharmacy should take back unused medication. If there are needles involved you may need to get a sharps box and only certain pharmacies take these in. I got a sharps box from my GP practice for my left overs. I live 250 miles from my clinic so that is what I did.

Hi. If you’re certain you won’t need these in the future, then I’m sure a pharmacy will dispose of them, rather than going to the clinic. I wish we could give them to others, but I’m sure you will know that it is illegal if prevuiosly been prescribed. If you have needles too, they can give you a sharps box too. I wish you well. Diane
