Follicules at Fist Scan

Hi,

I went for my first scan today (day 6 of injections). I was told that 8 follicles were showing signs of growth. The nurse wasn’t the most reassuring and now I’m worried that we won’t collect enough.

Anyone been in a similar situation? I also have PCO so I know I have many follicles but I was surprised that only a few had grown.

I also had 8 at day 6 and have PCOS. We ended up collecting 20! And that was with me having to reduce my dosage as my estrogen got too high.

I had 8 follicles and ended up with 5 embryos! Good luck xx

Hi Lilacfi - first egg collection 9 showed and they actually collected 11, second egg collection I decided to stop as only had 2 growing but I had been really ill with COVID 6 weeks beforehand and Dr has had other clients abandon cycles when catching flu so if you've been ill with a physiological response this might explain it. But I was told to drink at least 3 litres of water a day as follicles are greedy xx

8 follicles showing signs of growth at this stage is still promising. Sometimes follicles can surprise you by catching up later

Hi. That’s not such a bad result. Few more days should make all the difference, fingers crossed. If you can get four or five decent eggs to fertilise. Thinking of you. Diane
