Hi girls, my Dr called me and my hcg is at 160 which he says is perfect for where I'm at in my cycle. Its the furthest I've ever been in 8 years trying and I'm trying to stay calm.
But I've been having period pains today, not heavy heavy but definitely noticeable and if I hadn't tested I would just assume it was AF. I asked him about it but he wasn't super reassuring, just said it can happen sometimes.
Has anyone experienced period pains and it be OK? In my chemical I had similar pains and it wasn't good news 😭😭😭

Hi, I had strong period cramping from 13dp5dt until about 6 weeks. My OTD was day 15 and I was convinced I was out. The only difference between the cramping and my period was that I got a couple of intense stabbing twinges right in my uterus, which made me double over. I'm now approaching 9 weeks, the cramps have subsided and all OK so far. Fingers crossed for you 🤞
It’s hard to think anything other than negative thoughts when cramping, but I had lots of cramps with my last BFP…. Fingers crossed it’s just your little one bedding in.
Hi yes I has lots of period like cramps with my successful pregnancy and quite intense at times.I was told it can be a good sign of little one nestling in.xx
I just wanted to wish you all the best ! Cramping is not always bad, there’s a lot of reshuffling happening inside to make space xx hopefully it’s just that and nothing serious x
Same here. Still get period type cramps on and off and I’m now 16 weeks and heard baby’s heartbeat yesterday for the first time. I didn’t realise all the twinges, cramps and pains you get in pregnancy. Nobody seems to mention that!!!
I have struggled with symptoms and not comparing to my previous miscarriage. It’s so hard when symptoms are all so similar - totally get where you are coming from x
I am 13 weeks and I have had mild cramps on and off since the beginning. I notice them more when I haven’t drank much water. I find staying hydrated helps and I even take electrolyte drinks which helps too. Hope all goes well for you xx
Congratulations! That's a good tip, I'll neck some water today. My cramps just feel dull and lower back a bit which was the same as my chemical so you can't help but worry xx
Hi, I did have cramps up to first 6 weeks after embryo transfer. First time when it happend I was convinced my period came the cramps were exactly same I had a bit of brown spotting as well. Later it was less cramps but still present and quite lots of spotting. Every woman is different but it's nothing unusual cramping spotting and bleeding after IVF. Currently 23 weeks pregnant. Fingers cross 🤞
just to say this is very normal. Early pregnancy symptoms vs period are very similar and impossible to tell apart! At least I haven’t known I was pregnant before taking a test! It’s where things are stretching. I would also recommend upping your fluids to ease any possible constipation which is very common in pregnancy and can cause cramping. Unless you are doubled over with really really heavy bleeding I wouldn’t worry ( I know easy for me to say - I had this with both my daughters and spotting!) One day at a time but do remember every viable pregnancy has been at this early stage 😊. I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly I know how hard it is being pregnant after suffering infertility for years ( it took us 7 years to conceive our eldest daughter who is 5 years old ) you got this hun Xx
omg I have everything crossed for you!!!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 eek (ps even though I know cramps are normal and I had them with my wee boy they go freak you out!) xx
I had severe cramping from around 2 until 6 weeks with my first, and all was fine (we had a scan at our local EPU to be sure).
I’m now on my second pregnancy and haven’t had a single cramp. So like others say, it’s probably baby embedding and everything stretching and moving - which makes sense for a first pregnancy xx
Firstly a huge congratulations! I have everything crossed too! You deserve this! It’s so true life happens when you are busy making other plans! Sending you lots of positivity x x x
hey just to give some reassurance with both my pregnancies, one IVF and one natural I had awful cramps, to the extent where I was convinced I was going to have bleeding so I don’t think this necessarily is a cause for concern xxx
Of course you’re going to be worried with the cramping given everything you’ve been through. Cramping can also be from the hormones (if you did a FET) or digestion slowing down. I still have strong cramping at 19 weeks and the midwife said unless you are kneeling over with pain or there is red blood, it’s all ok. You’ve come so far already and are doing everything you can. Try to take it easy and everytime you are cramping see if laying down or changing positions helps x
