double trigger and 38h wait to collection- ANXIOUS

Hey everyone,

So this is my very last shot at this (ivf) as I realistically really can’t keep funding anymore cycles.

So with my other cycles I had a ‘normal’ response to stimulation but with ‘poor’ egg maturation. Consequently this time I’ve been doing the short protocol & I was triggered last night.

instead of a typical single hcg trigger I was given a double trigger (ovitrelle & surpecur) to help with fast maturation…. And I was also put on a 38hr hold before retrieval (extended from the typical 36.)

This has made me so anxious that I’m going to ovulate too soon and lose my whole last batch of eggs.

Has anyone been through the same ??

did you ovulate early?? Or is it still unlikely?

can I relax 🙈

THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES IN ADVANCE ❤️

Sorry can't help but wishing you all the best with the trigger - I am sure they wouldn't have recommended if they didn't think it was the best way forward for your situation. Crossing fingers all goes well xx

good luck 🤗💜 that all sounds so positive and great that your clinic are trying something different but I would of course be freaking out as well (as we do 😂) hope it all goes well for you! Not long now xx

Hi, I would say that this is way to risky. Double trigger and your egg collection delayed by 2 hours. If this all goes wrong, would your clinic be willing to offer offer you a free round? This is not normal. Although rare, ovulating before egg collection does happen. I have done trigger shots 1 hour after the my clinic's suggested time because I always knew my clinic would not perform the procedure exactly at 36 hours post trigger. I was too scared of ovulating early and losing all my eggs at over 40.Wishing you success.

I was put on 38 hour trigger on a few occasions, I think I had it on 4 occasions. The reason was I got no eggs collected on my first cycle. On one occasion using a 38 hour trigger I did ovulate 2 eggs early and after that I was put back to 36 hours but that was maybe just a blip as my body was doing some fairly strange things in that particular cycle. I never used a double trigger though. If you are anxious definitely phone your clinic for reassurace. I hope this helps x x
