hi ladies, on my first EC I was on a low dose (125) of gonal-f every day, we collected 15 eggs, 10 were mature + all 10 fertilised leaving us with 6 embryos.
Sadly we are having to start with another EC and they have upped my dose to 250 a day.
Im happy to listen to their advise but I am so worried about getting OHSS. What do you all think?!

hey do you mind me asking how long ago was your first collection? I got 13 eggs 10 mature and 6 embryos on our first round on the lowest dose menopur and now trying for a sibling a few years later they have gradually upped and upped and upped my dose (as I am getting older) and I’ve basically had the same number of eggs collected and absolutely nowhere near a risk of OHSS. They usually do a blood test about 5 days after starting stims so they can put the dose up or down at that point if they need to as well but my experience is that it was all fine I just seem to be ‘ready’ for collection much quicker now (after about 7 days of stims I trigger) xx
I’m sorry to hear about your 6 embryos. It sounds like you had big numbers on the dose you already did so did they say why the need to increase?
I had a cancelled round due to high estrodiol and a split cohort of follicles and for the second attempt they increased my doses (highest gonal f possible and double dose of luveris). I was also worried about the effect that would have on my ovaries but it was actually way more comfortable for me the second time even with the higher dose because my other hormone levels were lower. I did an estrace priming month first and that really helped. But everyone’s bodies are different so this just to say that just because they do higher dose doesn’t automatically equate to the other risks ! It’s all a balance between many factors.
Can you tell your clinic and ask for blood work to make sure? You also will be able to feel and measure with the ultrasound how everything is going. Good luck!
Drink tons of water, like 3l/ day. I was on the limit of developing OHSS, but never actually got it. They still canceled my fresh transfer because of the danger.
