I'm on my first round of IVF and have PCOS. They were worried around over stimulation so started me on a low dose of Gonal F injections, which showed very little response in follicle growth. They then upped it a bit and still only a tiny response so they've upped it again and we will find out today if there has been any response. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know how long it will be before they abandon the cycle? I'm really worried that they will have to give up because of no response. I'd got my head round that it might not work but not that we wouldn't even make egg collection. 😔

Gonal F not working
Morning. This happened to me too. My clinic were really slow at upping the dose so my egg collection wasn't as successful as anticipated. Only collected 9 eggs, 6 mature and only 3 fertilise. 1 made it to blastocyst by sadly did take. Had he clinic upped my dose sooner i would have had more eggs and more mature. I was on the stims for 14 days, usually people are on for around 9,but everyone is different. Good luck hun x 🍀🍀
I had the same on Gonal F. First blood test on day 6, dose upped on day 7 from 150 to 225. Had scan day 11 and only 2 small follicles in right ovary and none in left. Currently waiting to start cycle 2 but still no period 3 weeks later. Have complained to clinic and hoping to get some money back as don't think they got onto it soon enough.
I know what you mean - I never thought we wouldn't even make it to egg collection. Good luck.
Hi hun I'm in the same boat. First cycle started on 112.5 then after day 10 upped to 137.5 then after day 12 to 150. I got 9 eggs and 4 embryos with 1 blastocyst. Unfortunately our 1st cycle didn't work but it's important to remember they're doing this for a reason and if you have PCOS will be most likely to avoid OHSS. I had 15 days of stims and it was the last scan on day 15 that they said we had just got enough to proceed to collection. If that doesn't work out this time remember you don't lose a cycle if you don't get to EC so try not to get too disheartened. The clinic are learning about your body and what you respond best to, and it's better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck xxx
Thanks that's really good to know. I'm feeling much more positive about it now X
