Hey everyone hope your well. So I started Gonal F last night and am really starting to feel nervous as were getting one step closer! Also feeling anxious as not sure how this is going to make me feel in terms of symptoms! I have my first scan on the 17th Nov and then another on the 20th, praying that it shows us what we need to see!!! Trying to keep calm but know that I am feeling anxious - anyone else relate? Tips for how to chill?! Xx

Well done for getting that first injection behind you! You should take comfort in the fact that you're taking action towards having the baby of your dreams :) Everyone is different, but Gonal F worked like a charm for me and didn't give me any side effects (other than slightly uncomfortable bloating that comes with having lots of follicles grow!) xx

I think it’s totally normal how your feeling, it’s an exciting feeling being one step closer but when this journey means as much as it does to us all it’s understandable to be nervous. My main side affects were bloating from Gonal F, hope your scans bring you good news xx

Well done on starting your journey. It goes by really quickly especially on the short protocol. I had no side effects on gonal F and found the whole process quite easy.

Initially I had some lightheadedness and as you go on you’ll feel a bit full in your tummy. I made sure to drink loads of water and try not to over exert yourself.

You should feel better after egg collection, it will be over soon!

Best of luck!! 🍀🤞

Echo what the others have said - we started Gonal F on 26th October and had first scan on 3rd November. They weren’t quite big enough, so we had our second scan on 6th and were booked in for egg collection on 8th.

I think you just need to trust the process and realise these people have so much experience! We’ve been lucky in that everyone we have seen so far has been lovely, which has definitely kept the stress down.

Like the others I had no significant side effects from the Gonal F - a little lightheadedness at the start and some bloating in the days just before egg collection, but nothing major!!

Good Luck for your cycle - wishing you the very best!! 🤞🏻xx

Hi, I started gonal f last Wednesday along with menopur- I was so nervous and anxious about doing it! Only side effect so far has been headaches and bloated by the end of the day. I’ve got my first scan tomorrow so hoping that some follicles have been growing. Hope everything goes well for you xx

Hi Chantelle just thought I would see how you were getting on? I'm now on day 4 and start my next lot of injections tomorrow.... hope you are feeling less anxious now? I'm ok until the morning when I know I have to do the injection again. Fingers crossed for you and all going through this x

Hi Soph, thanks so much for messaging! So today is day 5 of Gonal F for me and I’m getting on ok. Have started to feel cramps but haven’t noticed too much bloating atm, generally feeling ok! First scan will be the real test to see how my bodies reacting. I have definitely been more emotional of late though! So close now it’s very real but also so hard not to get excited. I’d say I’m more emotional and not having too many physical side effects. Definitely less anxious however did have anxiety overnight Sunday! I suppose talking it out loud now I have been a bit up and down ha! Hope you find the injections easier as you go, I’m definitely used to them now, have just had a few odd days where it wasn’t as easy to get the needle in. Are you doing them or do you get your partner to do them? Thanks so much Soph, wishing you all the best with everything and always here to talk! Xx
