when you say natural IVF do you mean a fresh round egg collection without any meds?? or is it a frozen transfer you are looking at doing naturally? Just to help people answer your question 🤗💜

Dear #Twiglet2 thanks for your response. I mean Natural IVF without any meds. Just following my natural cycle . 😊

No sorry I’ve never had any experience of that. Ours is short protocol (ie follows natural cycle) but we always stim to grow more follicles than the one or two you would get naturally in a month and then trigger too to time when they will collect the eggs so you do t ovulate before collection and they are nice and mature. I’ve done Natural frozen transfers though with no meds xx

What do you mean short protocol?

So there are 2 types of protocols long and short. The long one the start off by down regulating your cycle or turning it off so they can take over it and control your cycle before they begin stims. The down reg bit takes a few weeks longer hence why it’s called ‘long’ protocol. The short one (which I think is most commonly used) you start stims day 2 or 3 of your own cycle and it largely follows your own cycle but they surpress your ovulation daily alongside the stims (as you dont want to ovulate before egg collection or they would have nothing to collect) then they give you a trigger shot to ovulate exactly 36 hours later, which is when they schedule egg collection for. Your consultant reccomends which one is best for your circumstances so if you haven’t already spoken to one that’s probably the best source of information on all this as that’s just my layman’s term explanation 🤣🫶🏻
