I'm BMI ~32.5 right now and I need to be <30 to be eligible for ovulation induction. This has been very frustrating as I struggle to lose weight due to PCOS and I'm also not getting any help with managing my pcos as well. Which means I'm running in a circle. If I go private, is it the same thing with the BMI eligibility?
I am on sustainable diet and have a training coach, walk 10k everyday, so I'm trying my best. Will I ever get the treatment?

Sorry you have fallen foul of the bmi rules. depends on the clinic I’m afraid. My clinic treated me privately for ivf with a bmi of 32 but the nhs wouldn’t.
my private clinic had no interest in my bmi infact they didn’t even weigh me. They were far more interested in healthy lifestyle even if you are bigger built and my bmi was 33 or 34 at that point xxx
hi lovely, so sorry you’re experiencing this. BMI is such a load of rubbish really and a really terrible indicator of health in individuals.
Sadly even private clinics have a cut off but it’s normally 35 so hopefully that will work for you? I went privately for this reason, my BMI was 31 mainly cause I’m short and do a lot of strength training! So I went privately as it would have been far more detrimental to my fertility to lose a lot of weight quickly.
our clinic is nhs but we are self funding so the BMI just needs to be under 35 (it’s 30 when we were nhs funded) the one across the city is purely private clinic and BMI can be up to 40. So going private is defo an option for you xx
I think it depends on the clinic, most clinics hold free information events. So I would recommend booking onto to some for the clinics in your area go along and ask about bmi.
