IVF 2ww - Update

Hi all

I posted a few days ago (below) regarding my tww journey so far. I just wanted to update I am still bleeding and did a test today and it was unfortunately negative. No surprise. But I am in a lot of pain all in my lower back and abdomen, sides cramping and a lot of dull pains to a point any movement is uncomfortable for me. I am extremely tired. Has anyone else been through this? I don’t know what’s going on. I am trying my best to also mentally cope but this is so, so hard. X

Hi ladies 🙂

Thought I’d reach out on here for some support, advice and/or experiences. I had a FET last week - making me 9DP5DT. It was a blastocyst day 5 transfer. So I am on day 9 of 2ww! I started bleeding 2 days ago - it is now Friday. It was brown spotting to start with - barely there but now is more pale pink and sometimes a bit of red. It is more frequent now, but definitely not getting heavier so far. I have had mild on/off cramping and lower back pain, similar to period, so I expect my bleeding to get heavier, but it has not. Thank God! I am confused as to what is going on! 🫣

Not really tbh I think I’ve been holding back in a bit of denial and now that I’ve done the test and saw quite a bit of blood also prior along with some clots (tmi sorry) it’s gotten me feeling down… we do have a 2nd embryo frozen but now I’m even more worried what if that one doesn’t stick and I don’t like being negative but it’s hard to stay hopeful after one fails… x thank you for messaging xx

I’m so sorry 😢 heavier more painful periods are normal, especially if it was a fresh cycle I’ve found. If you have reached test day with a negative you can now take ibroprofen which should help with the pain.Take care of yourself, the first negative is defo an absolute kick in the guts 💜❤️‍🩹 xx

Hi thank you xx I haven’t reached test day it’s actually this Wednesday for me. I tested yesterday which was day 11 post fresh transfer. Surely it will be negative Wednesday too so I don’t even see the point testing again….. xxx

Yeah I’m sorry 😢 my test day for a fresh transfer is normally day 10 or 11 and coupled with your period starting I agree with you that it’s a negative this time likely…but you did mention in your original post I think that it was a FET? Which stands for frozen embryo transfer? That’s usually a few days later for tests day if it was a frozen one (but in my experience I’ve had my result by day 8 even in frozen) you can test of course to be sure I didnt even bother testing on my test day last time (day 10 fresh) as I had a negative at day 8 &9 but you need to do what’s right for you as I normally do test just for closure test day xx
