Hello all,

just wondering if anyone has tried a frozen embryo transfer after egg collection at all from a previous cycle?

I can’t find anything on whether it’s possible or recommended..

Thanks:)

yes I have. My seveb year old son was a frozen embryo. I cycled in April 2016, I got a BFN. One embryo was frozen (blast) and then transferred in the August. That embryo is getting his school uniform on right now!

Hi Coffeeone, I had FET after egg collection - to be precise I had to have 1st bleed after egg collection to "close the cycle" and I had downregulation with the next. So I had eggs collected in April 2021 and FET in May 2021 which took and now I have 2 year old boy :)

Thanks so much for replying, but does that mean you had it in the next cycle and not within the egg collection cycle?

Yes, in my case I had to wait till the next cycle (transfer was 7 weeks post egg collection) because I had high risk of OHSS after stimulation.

Hi, on my 1st cycle I had to freeze all embryos due to risk of OHSS. My clinic said sometimes it's better to do frozen over fresh as your body had time to calm down from all the meds. I've now had 4 transfers and the fresh one was my far the most painful as my uterus was in an odd place due to my enlarged ovaries.
