I have 3 embryos on day 3. One described as "textbook", the other two slightly irregular cell division - the embryologist said they have the potential to rectify. My nerves are wrecked.
Has anyone had something similar that became good?

Thinking of you Trust your embryologist and hope the two embryos develop fully Make sure have people around you for support
Take care

Hi Greenleaves, so glad you’ve got one developing normally. I’ve had abnormal division in embryos in my last two cycles. Unfortunately they either didn’t make it to day 5 or weren’t successful when transferred but I do know from speaking with our embryologist that sometimes they can self-correct and go on to be fine (I don’t know how common or uncommon that is l sorry). Thinking of you, I know this part waiting for updates is torture xx
Not sure if it's the same really, but a story of hope nonetheless; after our EC they called the next day and said one egg wasn't mature, several eggs had been suitable for ICSI but one of them had not fertilised at all. Anyway on day 3 that one had fertilised a day later than all the others so they were watching to see what it did, and by day 5 it had overtaken them all and was hatching and best quality and was transferred. I know it's a different scenario but shows how quickly things change. I have everything crossed for you xx
Hi, when they say "textbook" how many cells do your embryos contain? Anything between 6-10 is what they look for at day 3...8 cells being the best. However it depends on other factors as well. What do they mean by irregular cell division? How much fragmentation is there and are cells all evenly shaped? These are questions you could ask including the cell number for each of your embryos. All the best.
They didn't go into too much detail. I just asked would the two catch up and she said they have the potential to fix themselves over the next few days. I was working when I got the phone call so it was a bit of a whirlwind, I've asked for another update tomorrow, I'll be more prepared then to ask more.
Thank you.
Yes. Chances are small but it can happen. One of my embryos with irregular cell division corrected itself by day 6 and was frozen. She is now 5 months old.
