Those of you who are or were on the blood thinners, how long did you have to do them?!

Until six weeks after birth! So sorry! It does vary depending on why you are on them x

Hi. I am 38, don't have any sticky bloods, and had two previous failed transfers. I was on inj.clexane till week 32 on my fertility clinic's advice.

Then I was found to have raised pressures in my Umbilical arteries, and the local obs team advised me to restart them at week 34. I continued for wo weeks postpartum. So yeah, basically all the way through.

And I was on Aspirin 150mg as well

I have been on clexane a few times as a precaution for ‘sticky blood’ in case I have that. for fresh transfer it’s o my until test day, for frozen transfer until 12 weeks. Last fresh transfer I stayed on them (and progesterone) a little longer after BFP because of several miscarriages (still didn’t stop the miscarriage though!) I’ve just at at yes clexane again yesterday on fresh transfer and will stop on test day this time even if I’m lucky enough for a BFP. Xx

I was meant to be on them until 16 weeks but I was taken off them at 6.5 weeks, as my consultant thought they would exacerbate a sub-chorionic haematoma that had developed below the pregnancy sac, as I’d had two bleeds that week.

Like @Batsford I also developed a sub chorionic haematoma and came off the Aspirin at week 7 or 8, but stayed on the injections until week 12 at which point I started Aspirin again and then started injections again at week 28 until 6 weeks post birth, although I think I stopped at 4 weeks post birth. I have hereditary thrombophilia and that was the protocol the clinic put me on.

Hi! I was on clexane from transfer to week 12. Then aspirin from week 12 to 36 and back to clexane from week 28 to 6 weeks after birth. So I got a break from injections in the 2nd trimester but other than that, pretty much the whole time 😓

from transfer till 6 weeks after birth!

I think it depends on the reason you’re on them- I have a faulty clotting gene so on them throughout and til 6 weeks post birth! I hate them but needs must!

From transfer, all the way through. Sorry. But, it'll be okay. You can do it! xx

I was meant to be on them until 12 weeks but after two bleeds at 7 weeks I was taken off them at 8. I was told I was put on them as I had a minor risk of blood clots and therefore it was borderline weather I should be on them anyway. I’m now 9 weeks and my bleeding has slowed down significantly. All the best x
