My next step is to move to egg donor, the clinic I'm under links with Spain and so I'd be having egg donor abroad if I stay with them. They keep the egg donor anonymous.Or my other option is to explore a new clinic that does egg donor in the UK. I read that the donor can write a basic letter for the child if we wish. Im not sure how I feel about moving clinics as I've not had an issue with my clinic but I guess I need to explore each avenue.
I'm just wondering what people's experiences are having donor egg abroad or in the UK. Anonymous or not.
Would moving clinic be beneficial or could I risk them doing totally different protocols that jeopardise how far we've come already?
So many things to think about its quite overwhelming!! 🤦♀️ any advice on your own experiences would be really appreciated xx

I completely understand how overwhelming it can be to consider all your options when it comes to choosing the right path for your journey to parenthood. If you're happy with your current clinic in the UK, it might be worth staying there.
Speaking from my own experience, we decided to pursue egg donation abroad after facing multiple failed attempts in the UK. We chose a clinic in North Cyprus, and our first egg donation cycle there blessed us with our precious baby.
For us, the decision to go abroad boiled down to a couple of factors - we weren't satisfied with our clinic anymore, and going abroad was more cost-effective for us since we had to cover the expenses ourselves. Additionally, we appreciated the anonymity aspect of the process.
Ultimately, it's important to prioritize what feels right for you and your journey. Wishing you all the best. xxx
Hi AJKP, we decided to go down the egg donation route abroad and found a clinic in Spain. I had some recommendations on this site and did online research too. Our clinic in the UK had a 12 month waiting list and mentally I couldn’t wait that long and we weren’t that happy with the service we were receiving. I was a bit conflicted about the anonymity with egg donation in Spain but I underwent implications counselling which helped me process that part. I’m so pleased we went abroad, our clinic has been great - so professional and efficient. Wishing you all the best for your journey xx
Hi Cica22, I cant bear the wait, i'm 42 and don't have time to wait, so our clinic recommended going to Spain. They also suggested counselling so we'll do that too. It's helpful to hear other people's experiences to gather more information xx
