I waited two years between my two cycles. First cycle 13 eggs were collected and second cycle 21 eggs were collected. I thought with me being older that I would have fewer eggs but ir didn't turn out that way! Good luck!
Hey, I have low amh too. For three years it was 7 and then it plummeted to 0.5. I was shocked that this could happen and I actually retested as I didnt believe it. It was after having COVID injections so I don't know if that affected me. My opinion would be to go for it if that's what you are feeling you would like to do. Sometimes I regret all the wasted time in this journey which I've been on since 2019. What I do believe helped me was having a break between egg retrieval and transfer. I went for a frozen transfer to give my body a break after the retrieval and all the meds. It was successful but ended in miscarriage. This is my personal opinion and nothing medical so I would also speak to your doctors and see what they recommend regarding timing.
I am in the same situation as you right now. Failed first round after transfer and no eggs could be frozen. My AMH is 5.9 and our consultant has said they can’t give us anymore funding and we can pay to go private but likelihood of the same outcome. I didn’t realise my AMH was so low and I went to the but scared the outcome will be the same. They’re recommending egg donor for me but k can’t get my head around that when I’m not classed as infertile x
Wow really? I've never been recommended an egg donor. Personally it's not something I'd go for as I'm trying for a sibling for my son. For my second round they've recommended estrogen priming and double trigger to help the eggs mature. I did have 10 follicles, 6 eggs but only 3 mature. 2 fertilised and 1 made it to early blastocyst.
I've had to pay for all my treatments - you might find changing clinic will give a different perspective.
I asked about luveris so they have changed my meds this time. Happy to chat if you need to.
Thank you for the above. I think I’m just trying to understand what other people have been advised. We’ve got consultations with other clinics so going to ask about some of what you have said here. Thank you so much!x
You are welcome. I know at my clinic they encourage people to try with their own eggs if they wish to do so. Not everyone wants to go down the DE route. Good luck with everything xx
I would recommend jumping straight back in. I was 35yo and my AMH was 2.0 and we were unsuccessful. It was our only NHS cycle. We waited 2yrs and I was shocked to find out my AMH dropped to 0.2!! We still had one egg fertilise, but it was also unsuccessful.
The medical team started suggesting we use donor eggs since our first IVF cycle, due to my low AMH and poor response. Since then I've had 2 more cycles with DE and just had my 5th transfer.
Ultimately it is your choice, and you have to do what's right for you, but if I could do it again I wouldn't have had any breaks. I wish you all the best with your journey x
Thank you - I had read that AMH decreases 0.6 every year but I suppose it's different for each person.
When I say waiting I couldn't wait a few years, I don't think I'd have the energy for it then lol. If I didn't get doing it this month then next month I'd be in Lanzarote and would miss my period so would be forced to have a break anyway.
I have the same AMH as you . Well it was the same 6 months ago . I did a collection in November , looking at another collection in may after some investigations this month and a natural fet next month with my last little frostie. I know I need to do another egg collection , I found the medicated frozen transfer I did in Jan (2nd failure ) incredibly difficult emotionally and physciallly , I’m still suffering some side effects over a month on . I know my body needs a few months to calm down . You know your own body but we don’t have time on our hands either . Have you thought of dual stim? It’s two collections in one month . It’s very expensive but time efficient x
