We did our first IVF cycle Oct 23, which was positive however we had a MMC at 9 weeks and had medication management through EPU, which on my re- scan 10 days later they said no retained product of conception could be seen, so we were discharged back to our IVF clinic to have our FET cycle, however I have now had 3 scans with my IVF clinic and they are convinced there is still something in my womb, they sent me back to EPU, but again was given the all clear. I have had two periods since the MMC and again went for my baseline today and my IVF are still unsure and said there is a unknown bright patch on my scans which could be retained product/ scarring/ a uterine fold etc, they have given me the go ahead to start the cycle but to be wary the scan may meed to be stopped before transfer of this ‘thing’ becomes a problem. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Had anything similar? Or any advice at all I would he so grateful, im pulling my hair outt!!
Thank you xxx

Hi JW. I wonder whether it is scarring caused by vigorous curettage when you had your evacuation done. My thoughts of course. Hope all goes well. Diane
Hi, my situation was not quite the same as yours, but following a miscarriage last year I had retained placenta that was really difficult to shift and needed 4 surgical procedures to get it all out. I was really worried I’d be left with scarring afterwards so EPU agreed for me to have a hysteroscopy, so they could see exactly what was going on. Thankfully I wasn’t left with scarring, but they got a good luck inside my uterus with the camera.
It might be worth exploring that if you’re worried about going ahead with your cycle before knowing for sure?
Thank you for the reply, so sorry you went through that! I did think of a hysteroscopy as an option if things carry on and it interrupts our next IVF cycle, I have actually booked a private gynae exam for tomorrow as kind of a post miscarriage MOT and not going to mention it and see if its noted by them and hopefully it isnt and therefore it can’t be nto much of a problem and just our IVF clinic being extra cautious!!
