Hi,I just had my third failed transfer (1 fresh and 2 frozen). I only have 1 left and this might be my last and I don't qualify for NHS funding in Oxfordshire due to my age (36) and funds are running low. All my transfers have been natural so far and my clinic have said I could try down regulation for my last one but all the extra meds and injections doesn't sound nice and looks like it's mostly recommended for those with irregular cycles which isn't me.
Anyone have any thoughts on down regulation Vs natural?
Thanks

Interesting. My clinic offers natural unless you ask otherwise. I think to keep cost and drugs down but want to try something different so might give it a go.
our clinic only do Down reg FETs unless you specifically ask for natural (as it’s easier for them to time and fit more patients in) the research is that it’s the same odds if you have natural cycles for medicated vs non. I did try natural but we got a negative so moved back to medicated and got our little boy so I’m a biased advocate of medicated down reg FET it’s just good to know that they are in control of your cycle that month for the timing etc. yeah the meds I am not a big fan of and ended up until 12 weeks but would do it all again in a heartbeat as it did the trick!! I guess there’s no harm in trying something different maybe? As the research shows it’s just as successful statistically and might just do the trick for you 💜 xx
Thanks, my clinic are the opposite and do natural unless you request otherwise to keep cost and drugs down. They are open every day so scheduling is not really an issue. I'm just really put off by all the injections followed by lots of tablets but feel I need to do something different
Not certain but I think in between a down regulated FET and natural, there are options in between: medicated FET with no down regulation (so goes off your natural period and then you take oestrogen to stop ovulation and build lining, then progesterone a little before transfer to maintian it and after to support implantation/pregnancy), or there's natural modified without down regulation where it's your natural period a nd ovulation and you just add progesterone to support your luteal phase. I did the first option and had success first time from that, but second time was BFN. And was about to do the second option which they said was suitable as I had regular natural periods and my lining was fine, but the added progesterone was for reassurance. I found the medicated one pretty quick and straightforward, although I did not get on at all with the oestrogen tablets so they reduced those right down as I didn't seem to need them. Only injection was lubion and that's optional, so could have been no injections at all. My clinic said they did mainly medicated as it's better for scheduling but the odds were similar to fully natural.
Hi, so my natural ones have been natural modified so I took the progesterone for added support. My clinic is open 7 days a week so are happy to do natural ones. They also offered the medicated route without down regulation but said I didn't really need it as everything looked good but I feel I need to try something different next time so looking into options.
