9dpt FET - spotting/breakthrough bleeding?

Hi all,

I had my transfer on Thursday 25th Jan and like an idiot i forgot to take my 2nd (middle of the day) dose of Progynova a few days ago. I took one as soon as i realised and then took my evening tablet a few hours later. I read online that some people get breakthrough bleeding with a missed dose and was kinda expecting it. I’ve had some weird cramps and some blood( quite red) this morning continued by a really light pink spotting - now paranoid that it isnt the breakthrough and could be something worse.

Has anyone had breakthrough bleeding and how was it?

Thanks!

hey, it sounds like you didn’t miss a dose just took it slightly later? To be completely honest with you I take my progynova tablets at random times (although do take recommended daily dose just not set times). At a previous clinic they told me you can take the whole dose at once as well (that’s what they recommended) you are just more likely to get side effects.

It’s really common to get spotting during pregnancy and majority of the time it’s absolutely nothing to be worried about. The only thing you could do to give you peace of mind is some bloods if either your clinic or EPU would do them? I hope it stops soon as I know how scary and worrying it is when bleeding xx

Thank you for this!

Yeah i’ve not had any more scary bleeding, just spotting and I had that with the meds I was on with my last cycle so assuming its the same. x

I really doubt it’s the missed dose of you just took it late I was all over the place with my progynova for a full 12 weeks on our successful transfer due to morning sickness and I took them all together so even more impactful to be late! Bleeding at this stage can be, and has been for me, a whole bunch of things (you period starting, a chemical, the pessaries irritating, the embryo implanting) at this stage a pregnancy test will be pretty reliable and will help tell which of those it is 🤗 for me I had the most bleeding on my successful round (I had a subchorionic hematoma that fixed itself) so it doesn’t always mean a bad outcome xx

Hi. Try not to worry too much. You may have a bit of an infection, so drink plenty of water and keep an eye on urine output. Could even be irritation from pessary use. Try back passage for a couple of days. Keep up with any prescribed medication including folic acid, and test on the day recommended by your clinic. Good luck. Diane
