hi there, if you’ve just had a fresh transfer and are 9dp3dt this means that you’re 12 days past ovulation which is around the time your period should start. Can I ask how you know your period is in another 12 days’ time? This doesn’t seem right unless you have a condition that causes a long luteal phase xx

Hi thanks for your reply.

Yes my cycle is 32 days religiously for over a year. Proven to ovulate every month but both tubes are blocked hence, the refferal to ivf.

So this week would've been my natural fertile window.

I'm not sure how much a 'mild' ivf treatment affects the natural flow

Had 9 days of bemfola 150iu with 4 days cetrotide 0.25. Trigger shot ovitrel CD10.

3 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilised and this 1 transfered was the best quality 9 cells at day 3.

I dunno how I'm feeling a bit taken a back....

Pleasure! It’s helpful to understand the process you went through.

This wouldn’t be your fertile week because you have already ovulated 36 hours after your ovitrelle shot, so CD11.

What’s more relevant than your cycle length here is the length of your luteal phase. Do you normally track ovulation? If so, how many days after ovulation do you usually get your period? Xx

😊 Nenad, thankyou x

CD22 has been the most reliable day measured by blood test and an ultrasound scan on a CD20 where the doctor reported a mature follicle ready to be released also a year of tracking with opk s peak has always shown CD21 OR 22.

Update.. I've seen only by wiping gently 2 more like the picture.

I'm using utrogestan but due to sensitive cervix I just pop it in I never push far in and not had anything bloody until today.... I'm starting to get a bit jittery.

Dull cramp lower back only sharp pain in the vagina if i get up too fast.

Called the ivf clinic but they just putting down to the sensative cervix use of pessary 🥲

Oh I my period 10 to 14 days after ovulation never earlier than 10 days.... Worth mentioning the doctor didn't puncture immature small follicles on retrieval day but there were around 5 immature follicles which he said could grow and release but dissolve as per normal due to tubes being blocked

Thanks x

If your period usually arrives 10-14 days after ovulation then this would be around day 21-25 of your current cycle because ovulation was induced on CD10-11.

Keeping everything crossed for you that it isn’t your period. It could very well be irritation due to the pessaries, I hate those things! I hope you can distract yourself until OTD. It may also be worth them checking your progesterone levels to see if you need more supplementation xx

Yes that's right ✅️

Thankyou for your well wishes.

when is your OTD? I don’t think you’re out of the game yet, only because the blood on the photo seems quite mucus-y. Good luck, and please update!!

spoke to the clinic the nurse moved my OTD from Friday to this Wednesday.

I think the pessary is aggrevating the bleeding and so she is going to email me a prescription to have an injectable instead.

When you have all the ivf drugs and if you take extra progesterone, you won't usually get your period at your usual time. You will get a 'period' (or sometimes known as a withdrawal bleed) If the transfer hasn't been successful. (Mine were always way after OTD and stopping drugs, but some people do get them early within the 2ww). Or bleeding can be because of the transfer, or drugs, or implantation. The pic does look quite red and fresh rather than light pink or brown which implantation usually is, but I also had fresh blood after implantation was successful.

Truth is, unfortunately, you just can't know yet. The 2ww is brutal. You can use a sensitive test and test a bit early, but most reliable indicator is obviously just to wait until test day. I've done a mixture of early tests and waiting, and I still don't know which is best.

Good luck, I hope its successful for you!!!!

Thank you. It's our first ivf and I was not prepared for anything like premature bleeding. Its 10day post transfer today.

The clinic said the same they can't tell if it's positive or negative but Wednesday blood test will confirm everything x

On my successful transfer I had a few bouts of bleeding! Had some brown blood which on reflection I think was implantation bleeding, but quite soon after I also had fresh bleeding which turned out to be a heamatoma (which was scary but corrected itself snd just disappeared).

I also had another embryo that implanted with no bleeding (not successful in the end, but just highlighting that not all implantation have bleeding!)

Massive luck for Wednesday! Do you get the results that day or next day? X

hi Dimo2024 I’m 7pt3 day fresh too, I’m guessing it could just be implantation bleeding, I’ve had it nearly every time when I’ve got pregnant usually around this time, quite a few days after implantation cramps. Fingers crossed for you!

Thankyou for giving me your experience I really hope its the embryo having a blood bath and the test will be positive.

If not I don't think I could go through ivf again its been torture for me. I'll go abroad if I have to just to get the tubes unblocked x

Is this your first time, I find it gets a bit better the more you do! When is your test day? Are you going to test early?

if I were you I’d do a test to see if it’s implantation bleeding, period or something else. At 7dp5dt (so your equivalent) I had bleeding and did a test and was positive so got monitored HCG wise and then a scan and it was a subchorionic hematoma (but this is as a successful pregnancy)I’ve also had bleeding with an early loss (which let me know implantation happened at least), bleeding with an early period (so got lubion injections as well as pessaries the next time). I know folk say don’t test early but for me it was helpful to have an idea of what was most likely happening in my body and why I was bleeding…. And as you can see it can be a variety of things! Good luck 🤞🏽 xx

If I were you I’d take a sensitive urine test asap to relieve your anxiety, the result will be accurate at 10dp3dt. There will be some shops open today. I will say that I got my period during my tww in my first fresh transfer, usually that first round is a “test” more than anything. I demanded more progesterone afterwards which delayed bleeding in future rounds. I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Hope you get some answers asap xx

Clots usually means it’s your period, implantation bleeding or irritation of the cervix from the progesterone rarely produces clots - I hope I’m wrong though good luck 🤞

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ in reply to Dimo2024

Sorry to say, but that does look like a lot, not usual implantation bleeding. Could still be a heamatoma or something like that, and still be positive, but with that amount it could also be the period/withdrawal bleed. I hope your heart is right though. Ivf is tough and after 6 fails here I understand the emotions and rollercoaster well. Fingers crossed for you xxx

I think that could mean anything really. I had bleeding like this 9dp5dt and it was neither my period nor a sign of success. I still have no answer as to what happened that cycle. After my other transfer I had no bleeding and wasn’t pregnant. It’s also entirely possible that you could bleed like this and be pregnant. Frustratingly you just have to wait until you test (it’s such a challenge!!). Best of luck to you xxxx

Urine results negative. Blood test on Wednesday.

Anyone know where I can get ubal surgery to unblock both fallopian tubes.

I can't go through all these drugs again it's too much for me I wish everyone a successful outcome. Not for the faint hearted.

Sorry to hear it. Sadly it’s very common with the very first transfer from what I’ve read.

Surgery sounds sensible. All the best to you xx
