Cystic follicles due to cycle?

Hello!

I am trying to do 3 cycles of IVF back to back but have one delay after another at the moment and just wanted to find out if anyone else has had a similar experience, maybe so I can manage my own expectations!

Ignoring thyroid delays etc, I started my first cycle and got to egg collection day to be told I had ovulated. When I went for the following day 2 scan, I was told I had cystic follicles and had to skip the cycle so delayed by a month. I was able to complete my first cycle with egg collection on 17th Jan, however when I went for a day 3 scan this week I was told again that I had cystic follicles and would have to skip this month.

I feel like I’m constantly being delayed by one thing or another, maybe naively I was under the impression I would literally be able to do three cycles back to back (I’m on a low dose & AMH of 2.7). I’m just wondering if anyone else has been able to do 3 rounds back to back, or whether having cystic follicles in between cycles is quite common? I haven’t really had a clear answer from my doctor other than it can take 1-3 months for cystic follicles to go, and that ‘it can happen.’

Sorry you have had so many delays to your treatment but it is for the best of reasons After each treatment cycle [ and menstrual cycle] the follicles that have grown should shrink back down in size But sometimes Mother Nature is a bit slow about this and it can take longer for it to happen This is why before each treatment cycle a baseline scan is carried out to ensure the ovaries are " quiet " [ no biggish follicles ] and if seen treatment is delayed Treatment can restart once follicle disappears - can take a month or two
