Genetic testing for female when using donor sperm

I am in the process of ordering donor straws for IUI treatment and finding it really hard to find donors who are CMV negative in the UK and Europe. I have found a few US samples that match what I am after but there is no genetics testing/matching available on the site for buyers outside the US or Canada. Has anyone had genetic testing in the UK outside their sperm bank and could recommend any genetic testing companies or advice you could give? Very much lost in limbo at the moment. Thank you

I haven't had genetic testing outwith the sperm bank. I used European Sperm Bank based in Denmark and they do gene matching even if you leave outside the UK. Took me 4 attempts to get a match. I decided on genetic testing after 2 miscarriages with my first donor.

we just went with CMV positive as with IVF you are never directly in contact with the sperm and the risk is almost zero if not zero. We have a healthy child from that donor (European sperm bank) we didn’t do any genetic testing so can’t comment on that I’m afraid but just in case it widens your search it really helped when we took out that criteria. When we told the clinic they said a lot of people dont bother with the CMV status if they are negative and donor positive you wouldn’t know in natural conception peoples CMV statuses. There were many other aspects that were more important to us for the donor xx

I'm the same I don't know what my CMV status is but went for a CMV positive donor. Neither clinic I've been to was bothered by it as you say the risk is practically 0.

I actually knew I was negative but still went with positive as it was not really a risk in our opinion in IVF xx

Exactly I would've made the same decision even if I knew I was negative.

Half of people are CMV positive. I found out I was during my pregnancy as they were doing some tests for something. No idea if my partner is or not as it’s not a normal test for IVF. From my understanding as long as you don’t get it initially during your pregnancy I think it’s fine.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about it!
