Update from yesterday’s egg collection

Little update…my only two eggs were mature and did fertilise.

If they survive another night they were planning a two day transfer.

But my husband and I have decided against it and pushed for a 3 day transfer instead.

Reasons being that I think we would prefer know a bit more about the quality going into another two week torture wait.

Our previous transfer was 2 days and afterwards we learned the eggs transferred were average to poor quality.

Also I wanted to be on progesterone an extra day.

Really hope we’ve made the right decision. Any thoughts or advice welcome .

I would probably also push for a 3 day transfer but I would play it by ear - if they are still dividing tomorrow then they are probably doing well...

you have nothing to loose by transferring on day 2. Personally if I was you, I would do day 2 transfer. Your womb is their best environment but of course I understand your reasons! Fingers crossed for you! I will pray for your 2 little embies 😘

Thanks…I was totally between two minds. But I think mentally we feel better been on an extra day progesterone and knowing more about the quality going into the transfer .. argghhh I hope we’ve made the right decision.

Yeah I’m second guessing myself but I just think the 2WW is hard enough but if I know the quality before it will mentally help me. Fingers crossed tomrrow both are ok. Thank you xx

I’ve been there, it’s hard but try and be positive to get your body positive to receive the embryos. It’s hard real hard I know xx

I only had one fertilised egg and my clinic pushed for a 2 day transfer as their advice was it’s better off back in me than in the incubator - and quality wise, as long as it was showing positive signs and dividing cells they were happy. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant so the little emby was a fighter 💕

I can’t give any advice on how many days to transfer I’m afraid but please keep us posted!

Trust your instinct on this one.

There’s really not much difference between 1 day really.

If it’s a normal healthy embryo it will continue to grow as it should and be fine for a day 3 transfer.

I know it’s hard but try to stay relaxed and what’s meant to be will be 💫

So pleased to hear that they fertilised! I think you were right to wait, and I agree with your logic that waiting for 2 weeks carrying an embryo that may shown signs of not dividing is just dragging out the frustration.

It’s because of that my clinic actually only offer 5 day transfer as standard. There’s also no evidence that confirms that embryos have more or less success in/out of the body.

Thanks Emily. I’m 43 after Xmas, and gone through so much , running out of time so wanted to go into this next 2WW managing my expectations. Waiting for the call now . The embryologist said there’s not much difference in day 2 or 3, that 3 to 5 is when it can go wrong . 🤞🤞🤞

My oldest was a day 2 transfer and my twins were a day 3 transfer..I'm a firm believer in embryos being back in their natural environment. Best of luck whatever you decide and fingers crossed those little embies keep going 😊

Ah that’s fantastic news. I’ve been really second guessing myself all night . I have quite a lot of issues. I wanted an extra day been on steroids , thinners and progesterone to hopefully give a better environment. X
