Hi all, Im due for a frozen embryo transfer on the 28th and just stupidly realised that I should have started the pessaries on the 23rd. I'm usually so organised but got the dates mixed up and now I'm super stressed. Is there anything anyone can suggest? Has this happend to anyone before?

is this a fresh cycle or a FET? I would call your clinic and let them know definitely.

If it’s a FET I assume they can just move your transfer back two days. If it’s fresh, the suppositories are supposed to supplement the progesterone your body is already producing so they might check and see if it’s high enough? Try not to stress too much I’m sure the clinic will be able to work it out!

Hello, Thank you so much for the reply! It's a frozen transfer. For some stupid reason I thought the nurse said 3 days before and when I got the medication out I realised what I had done . I'm trying to get hold of the clinic out of ours number. This is my first time so I'm just super worried about everything.

Don’t worry you are absolutely not the first person to misread a date or get mixed up! In my current cycle I turned up 1 whole week early to my scan despite reading the text message with the instructions about 10 times 🫠

I’m sure it will be just fine!! They might even ask you to up your dose to get you to the number they want you quicker. I’m not sure if it’s more important that you’ve been on the suppository for 5 days or just that your progesterone needs to be a certain number. Either way, I’m sure there is a solution. Good luck and keep us posted xx

They could also get you to do an injection like prontogest, which is a big hit of progesterone into the muscle. Lots of things they could do 😃

hi bbybrunette91 I’d start now even whilst you are trying to get hold of clinic, and if you’ve been prescribed to insert morning amd night, I’d add in another at lunchtime so you are doing 3 per 24 hours to get your levels up. (i have been advised to do this by my clinic before) As far as I understand from my doctor, having been through 6 FETs , there is a progesterone level of circa 30 they want you to be at for transfer. Wishing you all the luck.

Hi, just wanted to say try not to panic. They start the progesterone early to get you into the best place for transfer but you don't actually need the levels to be up until a couple of days after transfer and there are various things they can do to get the levels to rise quickly. Just start taking them now and let them know as soon as you can and try not to stress too much. I really think you will have caught your mistake in time, and you won't be the first! Good luck! x
