Pessaries

Hiya soo it's egg collection tomorrow morning. Took my trigger shot last night and don't feel any different than when I was Stimming. Mentally I feel fine I really thought I'd be 💩💩 my pants.

I've been given pessaries to start taking on Tuesday night. It might be a weird question but I'm worried I don't put them in right!! Anyone else been a bit nervous about that or am I just slightly mental 😁 Hope everyone is doing well xxxx

Exciting! I am 💩my pants. I went today for scan and bloods and they told me to go back on tues for scan and bloods again, but rang before saying to go back in tomorrow for bloods with a view to trigger on Tuesday. Feels very real now.

I know what you mean about the pessaries, the nurse told me when we went for teach session that you might feel like more of it comes out than stays in 🙃 but that you only need a tiny bit for it to work xx

I think this is completely normal! If it makes you feel better I’ve been doing them for 3 weeks and still not sure I’m doing it right! They’ve never reappeared so I assume so 😂. Tip though - pantyliners and don’t wear your best underwear.

Good luck for tomorrow! Xx

Hey everyone I had egg collection on Wednesday . Trigger shot on Monday night .the shot made me feel nauseous and tired. Suppose everyone is different . I started pessaries on Thursday told not to do vaginally but rectually. That’s worked . I just put in . It’s dissolves just feels weird . As it is vegetable fat . I’m getting on well with I’m on cylogest. Having embryo transfer tomorrow

I was worried at first. But after a while you won't bat an eyelid at it and just becomes routine.

I was told to push them in as far as they will go comfortablely without forcing. I would not worry too much though as they absorb easily into the blood stream from vagina.

Some discharge afterwards is normal (your body just absorbs what it needs) , so get a good supply of panty liners! Xxx

Hi Clairet1987, hope all went well with the egg collection! I’ve been taking the pessaries for 6 weeks now and also still wonder if I’m doing it right, but I’ve been lucky enough to get a BFP and all was well at the first scan so I think even if you feel that more comes out than stays in, it actually works and your body only needs a little bit each time. I agree that panty liners are a good idea, it’s all very messy (for me at least). I’m on Utrogestan 3 times a day. The one thing I’d say is that from about week 3 of taking them I’ve been having quite strong side effects (all day nausea, fatigue, headaches) but it’s hard to distinguish between ‘normal’ pregnancy symptoms and anything the pessaries would do. Wishing you all the best of luck with the rest of your treatment and fingers crossed for a BFP!

Best of luck with your egg collection Claire. You’ll be grand with the pessaries. If you lie down I think it’s easier to get them in far enough and rest for 15-20mins to let them be absorbed xx
