Utrogestan headache?

Hi ladies,

I’m 7dp5dt so I’ve been on these “lovely” progesterone pessaries for a week and a half. Had a headache last two days and thinking it must be these. Anyone else experienced this? Plus I’ve cried about 45 times today, just feeling low and tired and anxious and upcoming tests so I guess that’s not helped x

Ah sorry to hear this Mary. I had a terrible headache on the night I had my transfer for 2 days after! I was also taking progesterone.

Paracetamol wouldn’t touch it so in the end I put some ice in a flannel and placed it on my head - kinda gave myself brain freeze and it eased off so I went for some fresh air then and it went thankfully. Maybe give it a go?

I’m sure it’s a mix of the hormones and the transfer but try to relax. Have you listened to the Mindful IVF app? It really helped me relax & sleep too.

Hope you’re feeling better soon xxx

Thank you, I will try the ice! I think I’m just emotionally done in. I love that app! Although I’ve been doing it at night the last few days as it tends to send me to sleep well (I know that’s not the point but I’m a useless sleeper so that’s worth it’s weight in gold!) x

Oh I love it to help me sleep too😴 sometimes I don’t get through a 10 minute session before I’m out for the count! 🙊

Good luck for test day 🤗xxx

Hi Mary..I feel your pain! I just went through my first (unsuccessful unfortunately) cycle and hated the pessaries. I felt the worst on them and it was almost a relief when I had to stop taking them. The term mood swings does not get across how awful they make you feel! In saying that next time I feel I'll be much more prepared. I found gentle yoga classes really helped with the depression and anxiety..for me any kind of exercise class makes a huge difference to my mental wellbeing. Be kind to yourself..make sure your other half if you have one realises how difficult it is and try and plan some nice treats. I had awful jaw and ear aches which turned out to be tension in my jaw! Hopefully it will be all worth it.

Yep, that’s definitely a thing. I had a horrendous 2 day long headache during my 2WW and I took Panadol and like someone said above I used an ice pack wrapped with a tea towel on my head while I slept it off. This is the third type progesterone pessary I’ve been on and I’ve only had the headaches on this one!

Thank so much for all the responses!

It was very bad yesterday (as was the emotions!) but seemed to have cleared a bit today. Xx
